Hello everyone!

Since it’s sweater season for a lot of us I thought it would be fun to show you some cute and simple pattern ideas for adding to sweaters to make them extra cosy.

There aren’t many things that will make your illustrations feel as cute and cosy as a patterned sweater and you can add them to a character, put them in autumn pattern designs or just draw them on their own.

To get started, you simply need a series of different repeating line patterns that you can layer on top of each other and mix and match.

These are some suggestions, but you could experiment with all sorts of different line designs!

Then you need to choose some of those designs, pick a colour (or a few) and draw them across your sweater one on top of the other.

I usually curve the lines at the top near the neck, but you don't have to.

Here are two examples of how I drew these lines onto some simple sweaters and used different combinations and colours:

So simple. So sweet!

Next time you’re illustrating a character for the cosy season, consider drawing them in a cute sweater and add your own patterns to it!

Enjoy! 💖

I really love winter sweaters and I will try your colors choice for one that I want to do with crochet :-)
