Hello everyone, I hope you've been having a nice week!

I sat down yesterday afternoon to draw something cute and silly, so I drew a couple of sketches in my sketchbook and turned one of them into a digital illustration.

I really like both of these sketches actually, so maybe I'll also draw the cat in a pumpkin costume (or will that be too many pumpkins that I've drawn lately...😅).

Here's a simple breakdown of my digital drawing process, plus you can download the colour palette below if you'd like to use it yourself!

My drawing process went a little something like this:

After I had sketched out some ideas in pencil, I drew a digital version of my sketch.

So that I'd be able to use it as a reference, I made my sketch layer about 30% opacity and 'multiply' blend mode. That way I can easily see through it onto new layers below.

Then I started colouring in all of the shapes, putting things that are different colours on their own layers, and all of them below my sketch layer.

When I've finished referencing my sketch layer I can turn off the visibility to hide it, and then start adding smaller details like line details for the leaves etc.

After that, I add lots of layers of shading and texture! I'm using my Soft Crayon brush for texture a lot at the moment, especially to fill in larger areas.

I add any finishing touches and then it's all finished!

I drew this one while watching Wednesday on Netflix in the background because I started watching it last year but never finished it and I wanted to watch something with a bit of magic in it 😊✨
