Mimi's Newsletter - Happy New Year! (Patreon)

Hello everyone, I hope you've all been enjoying the end of the year and I wish you all a very happy and creative 2024!

Thank you so much for joining me here on Patreon, this platform is a big part of why I have the freedom to work remotely and create art content for a living, so I'm very grateful and I hope you get lots out of it as well 💖

My partner Dan and I wanted to have a cold Christmas this year since we're used to very hot ones back home in Brisbane, so we've been celebrating the holiday season in the UK which has been such a nice change.

We even had some snow earlier in the month which we certainly don't get back home in December!

I got to do lots of illustrating just for fun this month and also plenty of baking, watching movies and playing games. Even when I was working I often had a hot chocolate or gingerbread biscuit at hand!

Overall 2023 was a good year for me creatively and I got to do a lot of nice art things this year, which I'm very thankful for!

I went to the Bologna Children's Book Fair for the first time and met some lovely artists

I was able to start working remotely and spent a lot of the year in the UK and Europe

I drew lots and lots of illustrations to keep developing my skills

I illustrated another two picture books that get published in 2024

And we have lots of new faces here in this community!

What are your creative achievements for this year?

I'll be jumping into creating new things for 2024 in a few days after having a restful December - if you have any ideas for tutorials/topics you'd like to see me cover here on Patreon I'd love to hear about it!
