Mimi's Newsletter - From The Arctic To Bali (Patreon)

Hello everyone!

I've been away from my computer quite a lot over the last week and a half and I wanted to fill you in with what I've been doing!

My partner Dan and I wanted to see a really snowy environment before heading home to Australia for a few months, so we flew over to Sweden for about a week and caught an overnight train all the way up to the Arctic Circle.

We had such an amazing few days up in the snow - it's like no environment we've ever been in before. It was beautiful just to go for short walks through the snow because everything is so quiet and peaceful, but we also tried some Nordic skiing and went dog sledding which was really amazing 😍

I did a little bit of drawing while I was away but otherwise didn't do any work which was a nice break!

Then we took a long flight over to Bali where we will be for a few days on our way home to Brisbane. We didn't really intend to have such a huge contrast in weather from one week to the next going from the Arctic Circle to pretty much the equator but it kind of just worked out that way with our flights, so last week we were in -20°C and today it was 30°C 😅

So I'll spend the next couple of days acclimatising from the swimming pool and at the beach, and then we'll be home in Brisbane for a few months and it'll be time to get back to work! 

I have lots of things planned for this year that I want to create, so it's been really great to have a break before getting stuck into it properly.

I'm making a new Skillshare class this month (just a short one) and I'm determined to finally finish my digital illustration art course. I also have some more picture books to work on as well and am really enjoying making YouTube videos lately - so there's lots to be done but I'll just have to try to do them one thing at a time!
