Cat tax, as they say.

Doing a bit of rebranding over here. In lieu of weekly roundups, I'll be doing similar posts on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday under the headline Leads. This serves two purposes: firstly, to give you more bang for your buck, and secondly to keep me writing frequently. We all benefit here.

I guess we have to start with the absolute horror show in Rafah. It'll have no consequences for Netanyahu or Gallant. It's not the first time the IDF has hit a civilian camp, nor will it be the last. Norway, Spain and Ireland recognizing Palestine as a state can only take things so far. Nor will it stop Israel detaining hundreds of Palestinian doctors. This remains one of the worst atrocities of my lifetime.

Some other headlines:

Biden has some fighting to do in the Midwest and Rust Belt.

India's surveillance state has fucked up, as thousands of people's biometric data is leaked online.

James Risen takes the American press to task for failing to call Trump what he is.

The fucker behind the NSO Group's Pegasus spyware, which was used to kill Jamal Khashoggi, is having a career renaissance.

What else would you like me to talk about? I'm still planning to write something about warrantless surveillance, FISA Section 702, and the surveillance state at large. Should have a couple movie reviews for you this week. I'm writing this on Memorial Day, an American holiday commemorating fallen soldiers. Everybody gets today off except me -- the life of an associate producer for a TV station in Western New York. So it goes.
