The U.S.-Israel relationship continues to be an apocalyptic farce. The Biden administration's half-hearted humanitarianism extends to demands for aid to Gaza, but not to withholding state-of-the-art anti-missile systems from Israel. Biden calling Bibi "a fucking liar" doesn't amount to much after more than 42,000 murders. Maybe the President's conscience will fully kick in when 42,000 Lebanese are dead.

In fairness to genocidaire Bibi, he couldn't pull this genocide off quite so well without bourgeois narcissists in the media writing thinkpieces about how accurately stating the death toll in Gaza is blood libel. Take Isaac Chotiner's interview of Howard Jacobson, where Jacobson initially denies the genocide in Gaza based purely on vibes, before ultimately caving and admitting he has no idea what the fuck he's talking about. I wonder how he'd react to the goddamn New York Times running an article with the headline "How Israel's Army Uses Palestinians as Human Shields in Gaza."

Turning to lesser atrocities, American football has been a shitshow this week. The Detroit Lions pulverized the Dallas Cowboys in the latter's worst home loss since 1988 (47-9). Owner Jerry Jones, who's run the team since the War of 1812, is too busy threatening radio hosts for asking simple questions to rebuild his team. Failing to acquire Derrick Henry is an all-timer of a screw-up.

At least our other sports are fun this week. The New York Liberty tied the WNBA Finals in their Sunday game against Minnesota Lynx after a fascinating loss the previous game. Here's hoping Liberty wins this postseason, because I'll kill myself if they don't. Might end up doing it anyway if the Cleveland Guardians keep losing to the Yankees (although a Yankees/Dodgers World Series feels inevitable at this point). But the Mets beating the Dodgers is fun. We'll see how this LCS plays out.
