Hey, all. It's me. First off, I want to give y'all a heads up that this month through December I'll likely be putting out fewer Nowhere and Back Again essays. July was productive in that regard (if I can put out 3-4 essays a month I feel accomplished), so I apologize if this is a disappointment. In a couple weeks I am heading to Stony Brook University, where I will begin studying for my Bachelor's Degree in Journalism. It's quite exciting, and it's also going to take over my life. I highly doubt it will devitalize my drive for writing Nowhere and Back Again, which is the finest thing I've ever written. It's just going to mean less frequent essays, although I will try for 2-3 posts a month. Human Bondage will likely be unaffected, as Kit  produces and edits the show and my input is two hours of watching a movie, maybe an hour spent on research, and then roughly 90 minutes to two hours recording. In short, I'll still be on here, just not writing everyday like I have.

Going on Adderall has genuinely helped me with my writing. I can focus a lot better now (although that's perhaps damning with faint praise, as my ADHD is so off-the-charts severe that my mother El Sandifer, herself plagued with severe ADHD, looks at it and gapes with horror), and I'm writing almost everyday. Even when I'm not writing, I'm usually doing researching pertaining to Nowhere and Back Again. It's frustrating that this glut of productivity has happened just as I have to direct my energy elsewhere (but then again, I largely started taking Adderall to regulate my ADHD symptoms before going to Stony Brook), but sacrifices get made, and that's certainly not a bad thing. So when I can put out blog posts every week (and wow, I need to update Eruditorum Press), things will look pretty good. I'm really enjoying writing Book II of Nowhere and Back Again, and you'll get my piece on the Iron Hills shortly.

So. Now I should address the actual title of this blog post. I recognize I've shown lassitude in hitting my goals for $2+ backers. I apologize to my readers who've been generous with their time and money. You deserve more than my failure to regulate my activities. I've generally planned to give $2+ backers brief reviews of new movies I've seen, but it turns out I don't watch movies that often (although I will watch The Green Knight soon so please do not worry on that front!). I will record the audio commentaries for Dead Man's Chest and At World's End soon. Not long ago I attempted to record Dead Man's Chest and ran into some technical difficulties, and scheduling has kept me from recording it ever since. I've largely sorted out the problem, so that'll be fine, but I figured y'all were owed an explanation.

Anyway. $2+ backers: what would you like to see from me? More movie reviews, audio commentaries, podcasts? I figure y'all would like some kind of exclusive shtick. I'm open to any and all ideas here. My ability to support myself on my writing has been built on the foundations my community provides, and I want my work to be a dialogue with you all. So let me know what you think I should write or record. Hell, if you'd like me to give you mini-audiobooks of me reading chapters from Tolkien I could do that. I'm all pointy ears. I won't necessarily agree to any ideas you all have, but I promise to hear you out. Anyway, thanks for reading this far. May God bless you and Mother Mary guide you with her light.

I just love your critical essays, on your wide variety of subjects. Study takes precedence, so i'm patient.

Thanks. That means a lot. Part of me suspects the $2+ exclusives will be easier to churn out during the semester though, since they're shorter and less complex than my main critical work.

for instance, all the podcasts are *still* in my inbox queued up ... I have surprisingly little podcast-listening time
