Reading Diary (12/16-12/30) (Patreon)
Content
Still working through Cryptonomicon and the Summers Nixon biog. Started some other things too.
Brought to Light (Alan Moore & Bill Sienkiewicz) - Forgot to include this in the last entry. This is great stuff: garish, ugly, and sprawling like the Agency it depicts. The most disturbing part is that I already knew most of the CIA history it depicts.
Colonising Myths: Māori Realities (Ani Mikaere) - Research for Nowhere and Back Again. Powerful, incisive writing by a Māori legal academic on the erasure and violence faced by Maõri.
The War of the Ring (JRR Tolkien, ed. Christopher Tolkien) - Returning to The History of Middle-earth after a long time away. Tolkien's drafts are a chore to read, but some of the time-schemes and commentary included are eye-catching.
Black Water Sister (Cho Zen) - Have only read the first chapter of this so far, which is great stuff. Will read the rest and get back to y'all.
