Today's not important, is it?

Good, good. Don't have as much to go through this week because I've been quite busy. In terms of reading, I've been going through Ursula K. Le Guin's The Lathe of Heaven, which rocks, and W. E. B. DuBois' biography of John Brown, which slaps just as hard.

You don't need me to recap recent bad news for you. So here are some headlines you may have missed:

Last year a former partner and I visited an atrocious cryptocurrency power plant at Seneca Lake. The place was positively haunted, with a gate that creaked open like something from an industrial horror movie when we approached it. Blessedly, New York's Department of Environmental Conservation just kicked that plant's ass.

Queer people are getting gentrified out of queer neighborhoods.

In a historical victory for indigenous people, New York State has given back the Onondaga Nation 1000 miles of its land.

Queer kids in Tallahassee are being flagged as predators.

A Chilean Metro employee fled after being inadvertently paid 300 times his monthly salary. Run, king.

For a long time, Lathe of Heaven was my favorite book, so good on you.
