Hello, dear Patrons! Finally, a weekly update that should have been out for some time already :)The first thing that I wanted to tell is that Awake is working on a visual novel-style version of the game, just to test out if you like it better or not. Those who don't like walking on the map would probably appreciate it. We'll see how it goes, but there might be both versions released in the future.

I, on the other hand, have already started to work on renders for the next update. So far I can tell that there will be scenes with Fitzgerald and his pal, Earl, Contract closing (two versions, one with Jeremy), Bar ( I know that some of you have been waiting for it for a long time), and a couple of other characters that we haven't seen in Chapter 2 yet.

Thank you again for your amazing support!Deep

The walking in chapter 1 was annoying, but I don't mind the clicking in chapter 2. I think it is good to have both options, so people can enjoy the game to its fullest.

I always played the unofficial renpy version. Thanks for the option! 🥰🤩😍

I thought I would prefer the UI in Chapter 2, but I find that I unexpectedly miss something that was in Chapter 1. It does seem that she was supposed to have stayed on at the bar for a week or two longer to allay suspicion. That was the deal with Jim, but nothing at the bar so far in Chapter 2.

Yeeessss!!! , bar😍😍😍👍

Deep told us months ago that Anna would only be working at the Bar on weekend nights. Also about week previously, a few days before the end of Chapter 1 there was a choice whether to stay at the bar or leave. The deal with Jim that you mentioned was about 9-10 days prior to that.

You already know what I'm gonna say. Walking the map in Chapter 1 was no big deal as far as I was concerned, and the present set up even less so. When you've run on foot for 20 -30 minutes between certain locations on some of the enormous world maps of the MMORPGs that I've played in the past. You're Chapter 1 map was dead easy by comparison. Some people though just want everything on a plate, and anything that requires any effort on their part is automatically bad. So yeah, if that's what it needs to get more people interested in becoming patrons. I'm all for alternatives, as long as it doesn't add significantly to the time needed to bring out new updates.

Really liking chapter 2 so far, the game certainly feels more polished

Porque não tem o jogo e português

Because there's no game in Portuguese

Put me squarely in the camp of not liking the map walking. Feels very "gamey" and breaks the flow of a visual novel...if in fact that's what the creator's intention is.

No offense but scrapping the map would be a godsend for replays

Zara

It was never intended to be a visual novel, because Deep never would have chosen the RPGM format originally if he had. We had a poll when the decision was made to switch to Renpy, and the vast majority of patrons wanted to retain a map in the game. The idea of making it into a visual novel, is just intended to be a possible alternative to what we have now, for those people who might prefer that. There's no plan to convert the whole game into VN form.

From my point of view, scrapping the map changes the game into something completely different. It might save time on replays, but it wouldn't be worth it.
