Looking Back at an Amazing Year for Dransky Battle Maps (Patreon)
Content
Honestly, when I look back at this year, it’s hard not to feel proud of how much ground was covered. It was one of those years where things didn’t just move forward - they clearly leveled up.
BIG-BIG milestone
I completely rebuilt dranskybattlemaps.com from the ground up. The whole site was redesigned to make browsing and searching for maps way easier and more intuitive. Better structure, better filtering, less friction - finally a place that actually reflects the scale of the library.
On the content side, the scope went wild
Among other smaller packs I wrapped up and released some massive map sets:
Bustling Village [Post]- which in fact is a byproduct of Shattered Obelisk maps, but more about it later,
Halls of Tides [Post]- so far teh biggest dungeon I ever created in Unreal Engine 5. And it looks great!
Sanctum of the Forbidden Rites [Post]- yeah this one was meant to be small little happy dungeon, but turned out different and its dense.
BEAUTIFUL Borderwatch Bridge [Post] - which I spent too much time on, trying making the river look natural and eventually made it in postproduction.
and most recently, Cedar Hollow Inn, which grew into a full-blown pack way beyond the original plan
These weren’t just single maps - they were deep, multi-variant locations built to actually carry sessions, not just decorate them. And besides of these, there are may other smaller pack released!
Official Campaigns
I finally completed all maps for Chapter 1 of Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk, pulling everything together into a coherent, usable set.And just to keep things spicy - a map from Descent into Avernus also snuck in along the way.
Technically, this year was a huge leap forward
Most maps from this year- especially dungeon environments - are now produced in 8K UHD (7680×4320). That’s straight-up AAA game resolution - I think, and it gives insane clarity even on a very close VTT zooms. And this is all with decent file sizes. (More)
Even the brand evolved
There was a gradual refinement of the logo and visual identity, moving things closer to where I want Dransky Battle Maps to live long-term.
And the most important one -
The community growth honestly blew me away!We crossed 240+ Patrons, alongside 3300+ free members, which is absolutely unreal. The support, feedback, and trust from all of you made it possible to push projects further instead of cutting corners - and I’m genuinely grateful for that.
All in all -This was a very good year.Bigger projects. Better tech. A stronger platform. And a growing community around it.
And honestly? It feels like just the beginning.
