This topic resonated with me. Actionable, useful tips for REAL situations and feelings. This year I adapted my question for basic interactions. Instead of asking "What are you doing for the holidays?" I have been asking "Do you like this time of year/do you enjoy the Christmas season?" It is less invasive and the overwhelming amount of people I ask say that they don't really enjoy the holidays because of X reason and I feel like I connect with them more. Time to go SQUISH a plushie.
