I had a photoshoot that brought me face-to-face with my own aging features. To only like 10 photos out of 300 is kind of a big deal, but the bigger deal was the blow to my self-perception. I'd love to hear your thoughts on aging. Have you ever looked in the mirror and felt a pang of fear when you saw wrinkles?

Honestly I think I've realized with aging for me it was when I found grey's in my hair & of course not having a haircut I liked which highlighted me!! Luckily now I have & now I'm totally okay with aging but I think I still look good for my age being 37!! Now when you said about older women not being found sexy, I think that's a damn lie honestly because last year I dated a woman that was 51 years old and I thought she was just gorgeous!! However, after we broke up and tried to remain friends she just acted like a complete child so yeah but that's my opinion on that!! Big hugs Sarah I guess you should always trust your instincts but then if you didn't then we wouldn't be talking about this!!

Have been able to accept most parts of my aging (dad bod, grays, etc), though the thinning/receding hairline has really affected me, because I come from a family of males with (and I used to have) thick, luscious hair. But I've come to terms with it, and will sooner find a look I'm comfortable with that takes my natural aging into account, rather than resort to any sort of surgery or even topical treatments. Like you alluded to, aging gives a sense of losing your identity, but surgery only exacerbates that, IMO.

Geez, this is a rollercoaster of a vlog and right now the floodgates opened up. I need to come back to this, or hit me up, I dunno...

I’ll be honest. He’s a terrible photographer and a shitty human. He gave you the wrong vibes from the beginning. It’s his job to set an easy safe area for you to relax and be comfortable. Hacky “photographers” are so plentiful nowadays with cheap cameras and digital photography. As far as aging… you get use to seeing a certain way and one day you don’t see that person in the mirror. BUT you do adjust and start to see yourself again as you age. I did. And I know you weren’t fishing for compliments but you are such a beautiful gorgeous dynamic woman. That will never change even if you don’t think so. The inner energy radiates out. Don’t let aging dim that. That’s such a key.

I hate that he wasted your time like that and I’m glad the shoots that came after showed you he was the problem! I have been able to slowly embrace my aging journey. Until my beard started graying most people assumed I was in my early 40s. It feels great in a different way. Just being confident and secure in who I have matured into makes me proud and tbh I feel sexier than I ever did in my 20s and 30s.

You’re still beautiful

My health has plummeted downwards and I'm losing my hair, so yeah, age is staring me in the face. Just learning to love myself. Sorry you dealt with that BS from the photographer. Sounds like a jerk.

I'm going to embrace aging because the last couple of years have really tried to actually kill me. If I'm lucky enough to get old, I'll be pretty happy about it.

<3 thank you for bringing this up because it made me think that really hair is the big thing for men. It's inevitable for some, genetic for some, and definitely forces you to have to do something, whatever that choice is. I'm happy to hear you're on the self love journey. Stay on it!

So...do I think about aging? All the time. For me, its not just a physical thing, but also an emotional existential thoughts. Sometimes its hard for me to grasp that time moves forward and I get older, and then i get depressed. And sometimes when I look in the mirror, i see little white hairs that appear on my hair and on my beard and i try to pull them out. On top of that, I feel my body telling me I can't do as much as i used to do despite having the desire to do so. SO yeah...I think about it all the time. I know through our conversations we've talked about how our country has these twisted thoughts on beauty and aging. It bugs me because I see how emotionally hurting it can be. Aging doesn't make one unattractive anymore. I know im an idealist, but hopefully we can do better with that. There have been many times where I have crushed on women who have been much older than me. I appreciate you sharing this Sarah. You're amazing, and beautiful, and just an awesome person all around. *hugs*
