I think the end of this episode is Kim's Grey Matter moment. Like how Walter could've taken the job/money from Grey Matter and not gone on to do everything he did, she could've gone to the meeting in Santa Fe to likely get what she wants (the ability to help people who aren't wealthy with better representation). It probably would've taken longer, but wouldn't require the "shady" plans. Instead she wants to get the money now so she can just keep doing what she's doing and is willing to do whatever it takes.
