We only saw a few of the timelines Homura went through, the author apparently said in an interview that Homura looped around 100 times. Each loop lasts up to about 6 weeks (from mid-march till April 30th, the Night of Walpurgis). It's fun to re-watch the series now knowing about Homura - there are lots of hints/situations that take on a new or extra meaning now. One of my favorites is in EP 2, where Madoka asks Homura what her wish was - Homura doesn't answer verbally but just looks intently at Madoka as if saying "You. I made my wish for you." Or the conversation between Madoka and Homura on the bridge in EP4...
