Glad you enjoyed the finale. Here are a few bits of info: The Jimmy/Chuck scene likely took place shortly before the first episode of the show. He mentions that they may start carrying the Financial Times soon, and in the first episode when he shows up at Chuck's he has that paper and says something about it being new. Regarding Saul and his sentencing: I think he was legitimately going for the shorter sentence and planned to take it, but when he heard Kim confessed he started thinking about it. We see him kind of staring off, looking thoughtful, in the next few times we see him. Then on the plane, I think is when he makes the decision that if Kim can come clean, he can too, and comes up with the plan to just fully confess. He knows it likely means he'll spend life in prison, but he's been sort of living in prison as it is. Then notice when it shows him actually in jail it starts with the dough in the mixer, the same shot often used to establish the Gene scenes at Cinnabon, again making the connection that he was already living in captivity, just as Gene instead of himself. I think in many ways he probably will prefer his life in prison over his life as Gene, as he gets to live honestly. It also reminds me of the guy in Breaking Bad that voluntarily goes to prison for money. All in all I liked the ending quite a bit :).

Breaking Bad was a masterpiece but I think they have done it with this series. Totally serious. The two best series ever made. What makes this better than Breaking Bad is it it is both a sequel and a prequel. The writing was phenomenal it covered all its bases.
