Gillian Anderson was born in the USA, then her family moved to the UK until she was like 13. When she returned to the USA I think the kids made fun of her accent, so she sort of did her best to lose it again. But nowadays she works in both countries and can turn the accent on and off depending on who she's talking to.

Ahh, ok. I remember hearing her speaking with an English accent and I just thought it was her natural accent. I don't no why, lol.

I mean, they're kind of both her natural accent, since she spent time in both countries as a child.
