Chris Carter, the creator of the show makes a cameo and is one of the suits interrogating Scully in Skinner's office about Mulder's actions. Back then shows would do it occasionally, having the same actor come back and play different roles. The most "egregious" example that I know of is the show "Hercules" having Lucy Lawless play one character before coming back as Xena and right after getting her own show. Watching the show "Dragnet" from the late 60's lately and they have a handful of great actors coming back like 20 times each to play different characters, really fun to see actors differentiate and make each character unique, and I get to know and appreciate actors from those times. Rewatching season 2 here has been a blast and nostalgic, and I thought "Humbug" was later on in the 3rd season, kinda surprised it was so early. For me, back then knowing that actors move on from shows and sometimes main characters are just killed off, Scully being kidnapped and seemingly getting ready to pass on, it was extremely sad and heartbreaking watching in real time without knowing what was coming or that Scully was still in the show for many seasons and a couple of movies later on. To think that I was in middle school getting hooked on this show which I started with the second season, or the last episode of season 1 to be exact, and then getting to experience this type of cliffhanger for the first time then waiting 4 months, the whole summer, for a new season! 😂 The pain was real, but at least prepared us for shows like Attack on Titan and Lost with obscene amounts of waiting time between seasons, so something good out of these cliffhangers. Incidentally, Terry O'Quinn the awesome actor you may or may not know from Lost, who appeared in "Aubrey" already, in the X-Files appears 2 or 3 times playing a different character each time, and a fourth regular character in the same universe in the show Millennium, the second season of which is glorious and makes the show worthy of a watch.

Great post. I love reading stuff from people who are passionate about TXF as I am. Only one minor thing I would add, and I hope you don't take it the wrong way, is that I tend to avoid giving any kind of spoilers to reactors. You mentioned Terry O'Quinn appearing in later stories as a different character. I know, not a big deal, not really a big spoilers, but it's still something related to upcoming episodes. :) Otherwise yeah... I grew up with TXF. No other TV show come close to it IMO. The fact that it still has such a huge, passionate fanbase, is fascinating. Just look at Reddit and all the Facebook groups. Prop replicas being made (by myself included), people STILL being into fan fiction etc., Philefests, X-Files museum, various podcasts, interviews, so many things happening many many years after the Pilot episode aired. Not many shows can pull this off. That's what makes it something really special. And yes, the fandom is divided about certain things, very divided, but... I've learned to accept such things. Everyone basically has their own headcanon at which point the series should have ended. But I don't think TXF is alone in that regard.

This was a rollercoaster, was it not? It was awesome watching your reaction. Yes, Krycek did report to CSM first in "Sleepless" and later during the whole Duane Barry thing. He then disappeared in "Ascension". Yup, TXF uses actors from the past for different characters / roles in other episodes. Even Krycek was in "Genderbender" as "Michel". In the episode prior to this finale, that one guy was also a doctor from season one "Young at Heart". You've already seen several recurring actors throughout these two seasons. The first five seasons were filmed in Vancouver, Canada, so many actors were used for other roles. Keep up the great reaction videos. The X-Files is truly a masterpiece, and I think you will realize that too as the show continues to evolve.
