I don't think Leida actually is in love with this boy she's marrying, she might think she is but I think it's more she likes the idea of it, and she likes the Chandrilan Tradition of it, she gets to wear a pretty dress, be the center of attention and all the things that kinda come with it etc, it's a huge deal that she wants to embrace. The other thing is because Mon & Leida don't have the best relationship I think Leida's also kinda doing it to "spite" Mon in a way because she knows Mon isn't happy with it all. The real test though will be when Reality kicks in and their real life together begins after the event's over and she starts actually living with this boy and what kind of life that is.
