If Ellie would've made the choice herself to die then I wouldn't agree with what Joel did at all.. despite understanding why he would do it. Marlene not asking her was a major fuck up & not allowing them to talk beforehand. The lying is whole other issue, though lol And I agree, it really isn't their job to save the world & if Ellie was never bit then no one would even know she's immune. I'd also hate knowing that someone was sacrificed without their knowledge to save everyone, too.

Agree 100%. As much as I would have hated the decision if Ellie agreed to go through with it, I'd respect her decision. I'd seethe, but still, lol. And yes, Joel's lying doesn't help, and you can see the trust break in Ellie's eyes, because you just know deep down she knows he's deceiving her. And the guilt on Joel's face says it all.
