The history of the Eldian Empire opression is pretty recent. We are probably only 1 generations worth of people from it. Magath probably had parents/grandparents that grew up in it.

Yes!! I can't believe all this time I was so caught up on what happened 2000 years ago with Ymir personally, that I totally ignored the thousands of years that followed when the Subjects of Ymir were flourishing and running rampant up until only a hundred years before now. I'm quite pissed at myself and embarrassed that I didn't take any of that into consideration even though it was played out for me in front of my eyes. Like I said, I was so fixated on Ymir herself. I understood the anger that the people of Marley had, but I kept saying or thinking to myself, 'This was a thousand years ago! Why are you still on these hangups!' And lo....NOPE! I wish someone had set me straight all those episodes ago, hahaha! Hammered it into my brain. "Girl! This shit happened in some of their lifetimes!!"

Oh yea don’t feel too bad about it haha. There are so many little details in this show you have to keep track of it’s virtually impossible to hang onto everything on your first watch. Overall I would say you have a better grip than most of most reactors I have seen.
