I thought we started to see Dexter losing it in these 2 episodes. He seemed less in control and stuff started to bother him unlike his Miami days

I just gotta say...this is not the meticulous, calculated, careful Dexter that we knew from the original series. This Dexter is reckless; tossing syringes with his prints on them off into the snow 5 feet from the cops, using ketamine that could easily be traced back to him through the vet, showing up and almost getting busted by the cops more than once. Not to mention the fact that he injected 2 people, one of whom he killed by faking a drug overdose. Any medical examiner worth their salt would notice the puncture wound in the dead guys throat. This Dexter is sloppy and impulsive, and he's gonna get caught, or at least should be. Oh, and the Chief just happens to sit in on a lecture by Angel Batista who just happens to mention Deb, Dexter, and Harrison? All of these plot contrivances are getting on my nerves. If they had really written a good reason for Angel to have been there, then I might buy it, but oh, there was a random missing persons conference that the Chief wanted to go to.... Pretty lazy writing if you ask me. I think they should have left well enough alone when they ended Dexter after season 8. I'll keep watching this with y'all, but I ain't all that happy right now. 🫤

Agree, agree, agree! They used Ketamine instead of M99 ostensibly because Jim wouldn't be able to attain the M99. But how it plays out is ridiculous and I won't say more. They also used Ketamine so they could play the song Ketamine at the end of episode 5 instead of the Blood Theme. Its a song by MCH's band and written and sung by Michael. So many contrivances

I haven't checked to see if M99 is a real thing, but in universe, it's an animal tranquilizer that, in order to obtain, he had to make a fake vet profile of some sort if I recall correctly from season 2. I always assumed it was an M99 derivative anyway. I guess I could Google it. 🤔 But yeah, plot contrivance city. If the answer to the question is, "so the show can happen!"...work harder. 😂
