I would say yes it's worth at least a one time watch if you have never seen it especially with Asia and BJ bringing more to it than just the movie itself. As for the movie, personally it's not something I'd stop and watch while flipping channels. It has a solid lead cast (Kurt Russell, James Spader) the movie is decent, not The Abyss level of good 3/5 for Stargate (movie). The TV series was actually much better. All personal taste however, I do say you should definitely give it a shot and decide for yourself. There are plenty of movies on here I don't care for but their reactions make them fun. Not trying to hype myself up, but I think you all would love the Stargate shows (SG-1, then Atlantis, and if you're still feeling it, Stargate Universe).

I doubt they would. They said before that the series they pick to watch don't go too long like over 100 episodes (Dexter being the outlier but technically 2 different series connected). Same reason they said they didn't want to get into anime series like Naruto which was suggested a lot in live streams. But hey you never know lol.

Y'all, you know I gotta say something when this kinda stuff happens. In the scene where the spaceship first shows up, and the dudes in the pyramid are freaking out, and then you see and hear multiple *chck chch* sounds...like those soldiers wouldn't already have rounds chambered...that or they're just spitting usable ammo onto the ground. Think about it. 😂 Again, because I'm a firearms enthusiast and come from a military family, when I see stuff like this, it completely sucks me out of the narrative. Is this a nit-pick? Absolutely. But it still bugs the hell outta me when they do that stuff. Rant over...until next time. I love this channel by the way. 😊

So Kurt Russel gives the kid a zippo lighter. That kid is gonna be super bummed that his magic fire make doesn't work anymore after the zippo runs out of fuel after a couple of days, or the flint runs out. I have to refuel my zippo every couple of days and then typically get sick of it and use a Bic. 😂 Then again this is movie-land where the only things that run out of fuel are cars and planes. Helicopters don't because in movies, they just explode.😂 Y'all seen Hocus Pocus where the kid lights the black flame candle with a zippo he got from the counter of the museum that has been closed for years? The zippo fires up, no problem. Zippos aren't sold with fuel in them, but whatever. Sorry, I'm cranky today. 😂

I'm sitting here laughing because Jackson just told them he can't get them back without looking for the tablets. AND THEY'RE MAD. Excuse me the military took a civilian's word, "der I can do it" and sent them across the universe on that alone? lmao. get real. would never happen. poor writing, but I do love this movie

actually you can partially pull back the bolt and check the chamber without ejecting a round on many rifles, handguns, shotguns, SMGs, etc. Go take some meds dude instead of being Mr.Actually on the internet for a movie reaction.

Great reaction video guys! Enjoyed it a lot. You don't need to commit to the full TV series, the two-part pilot episode of SG-1 is pretty much a sequel movie to this. Watch that if you'd like to see more!

Here's a recap of the backstory and lore from this movie in case you're confused at all. [Spoilers if you havent watched yet] The Pyramids of Egypt were built by aliens. The aliens found Earth and enslaved the ancient Egyptians. The alien called Ra claimed Earth as his territory and possessed a human body. He ruled over Earth from Egypt as the Sun God Ra, and used the Stargate to move his slaves to other planets as well. Then the Egyptians on Earth rebelled against Ra and buried the Stargate under the sand. Ra left Earth and decided not to come back, probably because he didn't need it anymore. So his human slaves on other planets continued to serve him, while Earth forgot about him and advanced freely since ancient Egypt.

Awesome movie, I remember seeing it in the theaters ages ago, forgot how cool it was! And Asia, I lean more towards your side about the Pyramids. I don’t claim that aliens built them but I do think the history books are wrong, there’s something else that happened that we just don’t know about. This said as someone who majored in history in college, with a focus on ancient history, and I teach history for a living.

while I'm aware of these possibilities, my point was they wouldn't as an advanced recon team. Again, I acknowledge these are nitpicks. I'm merely pointing out that these types of stock sound effects detract from the audio design of the movie. The movie would have better without the sounds being there at all. And believe me, I am quite heavily medicated...it keeps the killer clowns at bay. But thank you for you candor. I welcome disagreements. It helps of grow as intellectual members of society.

For those who want to get more into the Dune universe, only 6 books are by Frank Herbert and should be read in the following order. I think there are 20+ books, by different authors? Anyway, here's the list in order that you might like to read (or get your computer to read it to you like I do because I'm lazy that way): How to Read the Original Series in Order 1. Dune 2. You're correct Asia, the Anunnaki, Extra terrestrials who created mankind using the ape men plus their own DNA were responsible for the pyramids. There's no way humans with ropes and logs could transport blocks weighing hundreds of tons each up ramps into position. We would struggle to do that today with cranes and trucks.

I don't see how they could know where the probe ended up. There's no way for the probe to get it's bearings as it can't see the stars, and any signal it sends back through conventional space would take hundreds of thousands if not millions of years to reach Earth. Any signal sent back through the stargate would not be helpful as a stargate is a shortcut and gives no real spacial information.

With Daniel staying at the end, what happens if he breaks or loses his glasses? Ain't no optometrists on that planet lol. I guess he can still visit Earth, unless they dismantled the on on Earth like they said they were going to do. But according to the Stargate TV show, I guess they didn't.
