It's directed by Frank Darabont. He directed The Shawshank Redemption (which was also a Stephen King novella), and The Green Mile (also Stephen King). Darabont was also a developer, director and writer for The Walking Dead. A lot of people in this movie are in The Walking Dead and those other films. Darabont likes to use the same folks. You guys totally need to do that for your next series. Your viewers will love seeing you react to that!

I definitely think the mist came through whatever doorway the military created and the monsters came next. That woman probably left when the mist was there but all the monsters hadn’t come through yet…she just had perfect timing and had they helped her they would have made it….Also I wouldn’t have shot my child unless the monster was literally carrying them off. He should have waited….

Damn the one time in a movie that they should've just waited 5 mins!!! Lmao 😁 The religious woman was Dave's wife in Mystic River if you guys didn't catch that. They said they (the military) were trying to make a window to another dimension. The mist is that other dimension full of creatures that need to stay in their dimension.. we are good over here!! Lol.. I'm guessing whatever they did didn't work and it unleashed the chaos on accident. Great movie to start Spooktober!! Can't wait for the next!! I'm ready to be frightened! 😱😁

remember Mystic River? I'll get back to that in a sec. 2 movies: Shawshank Redemption and The Mist. Both Directed by Frank Darabont and both based on a Stephen King novel. Shawshank stars Tim Robbins as the hero (so to speak), The Mist starring Marcia Gay Hardon as a villain (so to speak). and Mystic River starring them both as husband and wife.

They explained what the mist was. You were talking over it. The military wanted to see what was on the other side of a dimension and opened a gate to look into it and everything leaked out.

Fun fact the ending of the book leaves it vague as to what happens at the end as they just drive off into the mist. The director came up with this ending in the movie Stephen King loved it said he wished he had come up with it.

Frank Darabont is the Man! You guys like “Walking dead” and “The Green Mike” and “Shawshank redemption” so you were fully prepped in this one since he directed all those except walking dead I believe he adapted. Any how I want you to know a lot of heart and soul went into making this in less than a month with two teams shooting simultaneously. I love love love “ The Mist” and the ending is coffee table talk at this point. Thank you guys!

Been waiting on this one for a while. Just as surprising as you guys watching “Misery”. Which is also a Steven King novel. And I agree. She was to Old Testament for me!!! Watched this is the theatre when it came out. The entire crowd stood up and cheered when they shot old crazy. It was awesome. Can’t wait for more. Oh and you want scary scary??? Annabelle series. The Nun series. More Paranormal Activity. Lots to choose from. Oh and another one by Steven King that still gives me nightmares…”Silver Bullet”. Ugh. Scary. Love you guys. Just catching up on this reaction. The creatures mostly reminded me of larger creepier versions of "critters" you would see on the east coast by the ocean. One of the saddest endings ever, but a great one.

When I was about 6 or 7 my dad showed me Silver Bullet for the first time. With the lights out. And howled until I cried. Traumatized me still to this day. Then at 8 my mother let me watch The Exorcist for the first time. Still hate THAT movie to this day as well. So I definitely had a slight panic attack when I saw that dang poster behind Asia again this year. Lmao🤣

🤣 I can relate. My mother took me with her to See Nightmare on Elm Street when I was 5 yo. Honestly, it didn't really phase me much... and I wonder if that is why I don't spook easily to this day. I asked her once, when I was very young, if the scary stories were real. She told me that they were made up by people who were really creative and enjoyed creating monsters the same way I enjoyed drawing pictures and creating dolls. From that point forward I viewed everything I watched differently, with more appreciation and joy. Your dad though... sounds like ours were similar. 😅

What was wrong with our parents???!!!??? 🤣 And I wish I had done that with my son. He snuck in the room while we were watching Annabelle. He was about 5 or so. He just turned 8. Kid still has horrid nightmares. Tried telling him none of that’s real. So he doesn’t get a chance to watch anything remotely scary. 😂. Nightmare on Elm the original was amazing. I didn’t sleep very well after those. Haha. But seriously what was wrong with our parents back then?? 🤣

Our town has 3 sirens. A short one for noon everyday, a siren like this one in the movie for emergencies where it blows and stops and blows, and a siren that stays on for a long time no alternating for tornado.
