ALYSSA RIVERA

AWESOME 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Youjest

You guys are killing it 👍

David Croft-Ogawa

Woo Hoo can’t wait to watch this with y’all!! For a funny, October movie, please consider Steve Martin, in The Man With Two Brains.”

Stacey

Checking off another movie from the Conjuring Universe. 🥰 Keep in mind, the Nun weaves in with the Conjuring movies you've watched so far. We're supposed to be able to tie it all together with The Conjuring 4 (slated to be released Sept 2025). #4 will be the final movie. Note: The actress who plays Sister Irene from the Nun is the real life sister of the actress that plays Lorraine Warren in The Conjuring.

Andreas

Oh yeah, thank you so much and sorry Asia you need your blankett a lot of times and BJ gonna jump and jump. After that you not gonna sleep well😱 LOVE FROM GERMANY 🥰 👹

Rebecca Karsner

Never seen this one!! Can't wait to give it a watch later after work.. I confess though.. Nuns scare me lol.. I can say that because I went to Catholic school when I was very young... they have no sense of humor. Lol.. yes I was in time out a lot!! 🤣🤣 Anyways Happy Friday!! It's finally sweater weather and I am LIVING for it!! 😁

Rebecca Karsner

As far as the conjuring movies.. I've literally only seen what Asia and Bj reacted too.. will I need to know anything else before watching this?

Stacey

Of the Conjuring Universe, IMO The Nun is the least scary. I can't wait to see what you think, especially if you like the main Conjuring movies.

Stacey

Should be fine. You'll see a few ties to the ones you've seen already, but the first Nun movie could almost be independent of the others since it's time is set chronologically before all others. If you go back and watch the other Conjuring movies after watching this, you'll notice more things. 😉 That is one of the reasons why this franchise is among my favorites.

Rebecca Karsner

Least scary?? Cuz she looks hella frightening! Lol But yes I will let you know later tonight after I watch it!!

Eamonn Locke

Agreed, they dropped the ball on this one. Should have been an easy layup. IMO, of course.

KiddFromLA

Wooohooo lets get it

Eamonn Locke

Rebecca, I also was a Catholic school kid. My Biology/Physics teacher was the only one with a sense of humor. The rest of the lot made me a horror fan.

Cody Jado

LETS GOOO love spooky szn

Davey11

It's not Halloween if you don't get around to watching Sinister. Makes the Nun look like Weekend at Bernies

Mami's Gatos

The woman who plays Loraine is the young nuns sister in real life. Their last names are farmiga.

Andreas

And if you show this month (Evil dead remake 2013, the Nun 2 and Conjuring 3) I swear BJ needs a blankett 😉

Stacey

This reaction did not disappoint. I enjoyed watching this so much. I'm glad you decided to watch The Nun before continuing with the rest of the Conjuring movies. You should definitely watch Annabelle next because it expands more on The Warren's. I personally prefer watching them in release order first, then watching them in chronological order. We're first introduced to the Demon Nun in Conjuring 2. There's also an appearance in Annabelle Creation. Each time I watch a movie from the CU, I am able to tie something back to one of the other movies... and they're full of Easter eggs. The Nun is an amalgam of the real life Warren experiences with the Borley Church, Demonology about Valak who would sometimes appear as a child (remember the boy at the beginning?), and the Demon that real life Lorraine Warren said haunted their home (a cloaked figure, but not a Nun).

Abby

Yay yay yay

Soldiergirl

Another great scary movie is Cujo, it’s about a rabid dog that goes crazy. Also, don’t forget about A Quiet Place!

Hyperion

Sinister is a must! :P

Eamonn Locke

Annabelle: Creation is my favorite of the Annabelle's. The others are still pretty solid though.

Stacey

Nice! I'm not sure if I can pick a favorite, but it might be Conjuring 3 because it's such a unique well documented case. The movie did a decent job of including all the important elements, while still catering to the horror movie traditions.

Eamonn Locke

I'm with you! Comes Home is my second favorite of the Annabelle franchise. The haunted house atmosphere is killer.

Coolio

Sinister was trash to me. I saw both in theaters and was bored.

Coolio

Nun 2 was good

Eamonn Locke

I have so much nostalgia growing up with the Evil Dead movies and I love them all, but the 2013 remake is such a great movie. Sometimes I enjoy it more than the original. Blasphemy, I know.

Darth Brooks

Now were talking getting into proper scary movies. Man I can't wait to get home and watch this reaction y'all. I hope everyone had a great Friday, the weekend is officially here. Oh anyone getting any leaf peeping in? The colors are starting to change here and I'm loving it, anywho✌❤ fam!

Eamonn Locke

BTW, "Oddity" was a nice surprise. You mentioned it and I wasn't sure if you had a chance to check it out, but I liked it a lot.

Rebecca Karsner

They are slowly turning over here!! I love it!!! I wanna drive down to southern Illinois and go see the Garden of the God's when the leaves are colorful. 😍😍

Stacey

Thank you! Haven't watched it yet, but I plan on watching it by tomorrow. You also have me wanting to watch Annabelle Creation again. 🤓

Stacey

Still 80° where I live, but getting cooler in the evenings. No change in the leaves yet, but it'll been happening soon.

Eamonn Locke

You're welcome! Let me know what you think when you do. Haha I've actually convinced myself to give it another watch. Same for the third one. Tis the season!

Darth Brooks

Yeah still 80s here as well but the low 50s and upper 40s at night been helping to turn some reds and yellows. Queue up Time of the Season by The Zombies🎵🍃🍂🎵 don't know why but it always makes me think of Autumn lol.

Eamonn Locke

Damn, haven’t heard The Zombies in a minute. Garden State colors are turning and falling gracefully. Wish fall lasted longer.

Deborah Lewis

Annabelle is calling Asia's name

Andreas

No, it's not Blasphemie i grow up with the original too. That time the movies are forbidden in germany, but my aunt got a VHS copy and it was awesome to see it with her. But the remake is harder and i love it, and the best thing is the same man which make the first Sam Raimi the king of horror.

Rebecca Karsner

Great song!! Yea it was definitely cooler today here but the Midwest has the craziest bipolar weather! Lol it could 50 today and 90 tomorrow! Lolol

Heather C.

BJ…I’m sorry!!! I didn’t mean to call you out like that 🤣!!! You do be making fun of her then try to sneak ya hand over there. Jk!!! It was me. The blanket comment. And this reaction easily went to my #1 fav horror movie reactions. I’ve waited so long to see you guys react to this. Yes. Continue the whole franchise. And yes thank God yall got rid of the pillows. Be gone!!! And the girls look alike because they are sisters IRL. So cool. Love you guys. But BJ…get you a blanket.

Darth Brooks

You are 100% right lol. The CPC already has the next 10 day outlook as well above normal temps and below average rainfall for us in the midwest.

James

My buttholes tingling. An not in a fun way

Eamonn Locke

That’s crazy! Which movies were banned? Just graphic horror movies? I was born in the states, but lived in Surrey, England when I was young in the 80’s. Have only visited Germany. You have an awesome aunt, btw! The Evil Dead remake is so good though. Sam Raimi is an icon and director Fede Alvarez has since been on my watchlist.

Karim

Asia: “I can’t with this music” 😂😂😂😂

Shenita

You guys need to check out the 1976 version of the omen Also the young girl that plays the nun in here she is a younger sister to the actress that plays Lorraine in the conguring movies real life sisters

Lori

Transylvania is a cultural and historical region IN Romania.

The_Paige_Master

This movie and the sequel are trash 🫣🤣

The_Paige_Master

And Norma on Bates Motel, which you guys should watch lol

Dan Gonya

I hate to be Debbie downer here but while The Conjuring 1 and 2 were legitimately scary, The Nun is nothing but a bunch of cheap jump scares. I was very disappointed, especially because the Nun in The Conjuring 2 scared the bejesus out of me. In this one they took a scary character and just used it in the most generic ways possible. SMH. 😑

Dan Gonya

One other thing. It has become a staple of demonic type movies that an upside down cross is a symbol of evil. In reality, if you were to walk around the inside of the Vatican, you would see upside crosses everywhere as a symbol of the papacy. As Peter, the first pope, was crucified upside down...he was also married, so there's that too. 🤷🏻

Dan Gonya

The actress that plays the nun who y'all think resembles Lorraine is played by Taissa Farmiga, Vera Farmiga's sister who plays Lorraine Warren in the Conjuring films...amongst other things. Im sure they cast her on purpose for that reason.

ALYSSA RIVERA

Asia’s screaming is priceless. 😆 The jumpscares seriously gets you with these movies 🫣

Dan Gonya

In another life, I studied theology at Concordia University, and graduated with a degree in Lutheran Church Missouri Synod theology. I just have to say that demonic forces in Hollywood are far more powerful than they are in real life. In the name of Jesus Christ, Satan and all his minions fall. If you guys, Asian and BJ are Christians, and Christ lives in your heart, neither of you have anything to fear from anything like this, EVER. A demon cannot take control of a heart already inhabited by Christ. So, based on all of this and the faith that comes with it, movies like this have no impact on me whatsoever. That being said, creepy images have a way of finding their way into my head, which is the only reason that Valak, the defiler, bothered me in the slightest in The Conjuring 2. Praise Jesus.

☆C~H~A~N~D~L~E~R☆

Will you be returning to the Conjuring series to watch Conjuring 3?

Dan Gonya

Conjuring 1 and 2 were done by James Wan. The Nun is a cheap knockoff.

Stacey

I hope so. IMO, it's one of the best.

Taylor

Now you have to watch The Annabelle movies, they all link

Stacey

💜 Have you watched The Enfield Haunting (on Apple +)? It's the case study that Conjuring 2 was based on. I think you would find it interesting since you studied theology.

Stacey

I forgot how many jump scares are in this movie.

Stacey

Kinda agree. I love a well placed jump scare, and this movie was full of them. They were definitely more reliant on those than development of The Nun character to be anything more than scary looking. The Borely Church is the location inspiration for the movie and The Warren's investigated it. I wished they would have utilized more of that haunting for the movie and the Nun character because it is incredibly frightening. I definitely had higher expectations the first time I watched it simply because it is part of the CU, but considering this movie was intended to be a "sandwich" bridge for the other movies helped me appreciate it more. I fully expect there to be a big reveal in Conjuring 4. 🤞

Pombzor

Another great reaction. I recommend Sinister

Stacey

The music in the movie is one of the aspects I appreciate the most about it. The way I cackled when Asia was done with the music at the end! I'm sure that is exactly the reaction the scorer was looking for. The way he took a traditional monk throat singing style, keening, and "standard church" melodic arrangements, and then added some dissonance to it was brilliant. The dissonance makes whats is normally a calming, meditative practice feel uber creepy and tension building. The throat singing in particular seemed to indicate that The Nun is looming near. Since I've seen this a few times before, I noticed the music more this time around. It is perfectly executed for the film.

Keyuana Gray

You guys also have to watch Insidious movies, minus the last those are good too. Also starring Patrick Wilson who plays Ed in the Conjuring movies

Stacey

They have a reaction to Insidious. 🙂 if you click on collections, then horror, it's not too far down the list.

Keyuana Gray

Thanks, don't know how I missed that. Gotta do the second one

Rebecca Karsner

I didn't watch it last night but I'm gonna watch it his weekend. I'll let you know if I liked it Stacey!

Anthony

Please do THE OTHERS, Asia and BJ

ravendog101

Good call! The Others so very good

Anthony

Thank you. It’s not in the minds of most Cinephiles, but it’s a really great horror movie, and very good movie, period.

PatsyAnn

Yes! Taissa is also known for her roles in the AHS shows. Murder House and then Coven

KimM

I do believe this was the first time I saw Asia say..."What the F@ck!!!" 😁 That was one fun ride watching this again with you two. Loved your reactions and comments....now on to watch Pet Sematary tonight!!!

Carson.Blu

I was hoping y'all would get to react to this movie. This was a whole 'nother level of scary. My wife and I watched this when it came out to stream, it scared me more than the Conjuring and Annabelle (That's another one to watch if you haven't already) movies. There are a lot of WTF moments in this. This was fun to watch with you guys because it's been a minute since I saw this. Great reaction to a "WTF, that was really scary," movie. Scaryober continues ....

Mister Lou

another great scary movie reaction! please just watch them in order of release date.

Shenita

Now you guys need to see the Nun 2

Dan Gershgol

This movie did not grab me like the conjouring movies. Still a good watch.

Kenny

Great reaction as usual (: One movie that's one of my favorite and that I'd love for you guys to react is ''Drag Me To Hell'' (2009) (:

tab

Great movie - FUN FACT: Stephen King played the minister at the grave service. Great watching this with you guys.

Carson.Blu

That is a really fun fact. Now I have to watch this for the third time to see him because I missed it both times when I watched this movie. Way to point that out!

KimM

Yes, he was younger and perhaps not recognized.

Josip Buretić

I fall after watching American Horror Story in love with Taissa!! I just may watch this movie because she is in it 🥰🥰🤭

Anthony Turner

I can't lie, this is my 1st time watching this movie. I can't watch it by myself 😂 Wdtching it with you guys makes it so much more fun, than scary.

Heather C.

OK I know I've left multiple comments on this but I've got to say it is so crazy to rewatch this again and again and know that I'm the one who left the comment about BJ needing his own blanket. It kills me every time. It starts at about 2 minutes into the intro and I still duck and apologize every time. 🤣 I love yall so much though. Really do. Still sorry every time BJ. But going to rewatch this again. Such a classic.

FEISTY

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Did you know that the evil nun is played by the real sister of the woman who plays the sister in white ? When she showed up to rehearsal they saw her older sister with her and liked the shape of her face and cast her as the nun. I just keep thinking to myself, , if the sister that played the sister has nightmares about her sister, LoL 🤣.
