So, Jax never finished the book JT wrote, remember when Tara found the letters, he forgot about the book, even was about to burn it at one point. so he never finished it. Jury was basically saying JT sacrificed himself and figured he'd save his club and maybe save Jax from becoming, what he has become.....

He wasn't an elder in SoA, but he was a close and trusted friend of a couple of the original members (like John and Piney, and maybe Lenny), since Jury saved John's life while they were all serving in Vietnam. Rather than joining SoA, Jury founded the Devil's Tribe MC in Indian Hills (that was integrated into SoA in season 1), but Jax had a history (prior to all the craziness) of respecting Jury as an elder and old friend of his dad.

August Marks Knows That Bobby is Jack's Consigliere (Adviser/Counsel) So ANY Idea That Comes from SAMCRO Was Vetted & Approved of by Bobby. Bobby ALSO was the highest ranking member of SAMCRO on the scene when they trespassed on Pope Partners Inc. property to bury the body of a man SAMCRO randomly killed by barging in on his freak off unannounced. A man who happened to be a Business Partner of August. And like BJ said, Marks gave Jacks a FAIR Warning Not to double cross him but Jacks didn't care nor did the rest of SAMCRO because they literally sat at that table & Jacks reminded everyone of the danger in going against August Marks. August Marks is 💯% Justified in his course if actions. It's becoming obvious that you're Liking my comments without actually reading them because I pointed out that it was already made clear that Juice was the one who came up with the idea to blame the Chinese for what Gemma did to Tara. It was NOT Gemma who came up with that Lie about the Chinese. Gemma has been the true villian of this show since the beginning. I hate her so much. Nero needs to wake up and smell the distrust when it comes to her. He is not perfect either but he wouldn't do anything remotely close to what she has done. Gemma got me wanting to slap my TV whenever she's on screen! Idk if I ever hated a character so much. But that is also a testament to Katy Sagal. She ate this role. A good actor will make you like them and their character despite flaws.. but a great actor will make you hate them so much but still also kinda want to see them continue their destructive path. And she literally kills this role. And she seems like the sweetest person in real life so seeing her character do these things is just so crazy! OMG guys.. we are down to the final 5 episodes. I don't think any of us are ready to leave Charming yet!! 😭 And OMG leave Bobby alone!!!!!

I know this is a year late, but Jury told Jax that he wasn't the one who ratted them out to the Chinese. Jax chose not to believe him. He then did what he did. In short, Jax killed his old man's best friend. It's like he killed JT's Opie, which pretty much sealed the rest of the show for Jax.
