Ok guys, maybe we jumped the gun a bit too quickly by deciding which series we should watch next. We have listed the top 2 winners from each poll and we will decide on what we watch next from the winner of this poll. Hopefully this settles a little of the confusion on which series we watch next... Ultimately, we want to watch what you all think is best!! May the best series win!

I'm torn I really like 3 of these shows but don't know if I want to sit through them again or not. Do I vote when I don't have a horse in the race and possibly effect the result someone might care about or do I stand mute ? Maybe my vote won't matter anyway cause one of them is way ahead. I think people here like to have reactions to stuff they've already seen, and Peaky Blinders originally aired on BBC and came to Netflix on delay, so maybe didn't have as many eyes on it compared to a show like Lost which was shown on network television, or a Netflix original like Ozark (which was getting comparisons to Breaking Bad too, so probably drew in audiences easier). Personally, having seen Peaky Blinders, I'd say it goes toe to toe with The Wire. Though like Ozark, the final season lost some speed on it's fastball due to production delays during Covid. Not as bad of a final season fall-off as Ozark though I'd say.

Agreed. It should be emphasized that True Detective seasons are all like separate, stand-alone shows with different characters and stories. I only liked Season 1 but it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

I like the last episode I found it very spiritual. The final season wasn't my favorite but I felt they saved it at the end. Dexter and Game of Thrones completely stalled out at the end of their series.

It took me an entire decade to finish Lost because the first time I got to the end and it became so mind-numbingly slow that I could not finish it. Accidently waited too long and forgot too many details (and forgot why I stopped watching in the first place) so I watched it again and AGAIN it was so difficult for me to finish the series but I forced my way through it and the payoff was so disappointing I wish I had never given it a second glance, it did not deserve it. Time I will never get back. Game of Thrones' ending may be a disappointment but at least I wasn't bored.

Aloy- we are so on the same page regarding Lost. The first season was good, and I really wish I would have stopped there! I have ADD and would get so bored that my mind would wander during entire episodes. I didn’t realize it until I read a recap of a specific episode and realized I had zoned out after 5 minutes. I couldn’t believe I had stared at the TV for an hour and was daydreaming the whole time!

Bunch of great shows here. Peaky blinders is 6 season with 6 episodes per season. I feel you'd blow right ththrough ththem. Also, ita one of those shows rhat changes you ans makes you think about the bigger picture Like the walking dead. Shameless I got into late. It's addicted the forst time you watch it. Emmy Rossum is amazing and the backbone of the show till she left. I cannot stomach it anymore, personally. It's hella heavy and dramatic. It has its dark hhumorous moments.

I did, I went with The Wire first because it’s the older of the two, but I know eventually you will get around to Vikings as much as you like Game of Thrones. Vikings is not a true story, but it is based on true events from that time. Some characters are fictitious while others were real.⚔️🛡️👍🏻

I’ll pay you NOT to do the wire. The wire sucks don’t do it. It’s 23 years old, no one gets busted, it’s just ghetto drug dealers talking the entire time until finally some characters are killed and lame Marlo takes over and it just ends. So many better options. It is a crime that True detective, Fargo series, narcos & narcos Mexico is not on here to be done. I will pay you to not do the wire and try one of the others. Seriously the wire sucks bad. People only think it’s good because it’s celebrated ghetto culture and was the 1st HBO series. But it doesn’t hold up the plot never goes anywhere and it just ends. Again I’ll pay you not to do it.

legitimately nothing you said is correct. The wire doesn't glorify any culture. Its a cautionary tale about poverty and those who live in it. It tells the story of both the people who sell drugs and the people who use them. Its a story about policing and police corruption, about bending the law to do whats right and what is the line between those who bend the law and the criminals themselves. Its about political corruption and its ties to both law enforcement and the people law enforcement is attempting to arrest. Its also not the first HBO show, Arliss, OZ, and the Sopranos were all released before The Wire. If you're gonna run your mouth and try and spoil the show in the comments at least know wtf your talking about.

There’s still so many shows on this list that you won’t get an accurate take. Ozark is on top now with 23% but all that means is the vast majority of people - 77% voted for something else. I’d take the top two from this one and do one last poll and see if some of the other options aren’t splitting the difference. Although I’m biased because I know Ozark is a second rate Breaking Bad rip off and The Wire is one of the best shows of all time. I could and have talked for hours about that show and what it means. Something to remember with The Wire is that it’s less about the plot and more about the philosophy of what is going on. It’s about what the show is saying about poverty, drug culture, corrupt cops, good cops, bureaucracy, addiction, government, education, journalism, the corruption of it ALL and how all of that is tied together and how it grips our country and it’s people. If you want to see something that hits your heart and makes you think, The Wire does it better than anything else.

Ozark's as good as the wire, even if it has similarities to breaking bad, it's a better watch. If you re-watch the wire now, it's still really good, but it's not as amazing as people remember. It's nostalgia-fied . . if that's a word :)

@Richard, agree to disagree. I’ve seen both shows within the last year and while maybe the technology in The Wire is dated (it was actually dated when the show originally aired - part of the show was capturing how tech evolved and the bureaucratic failure to keep up), the themes remain true and more relevant than ever. Plus, the first time I saw The Wire was less than 5 years ago so I’m not a part of the nostalgia train. It’s more of a philosophical show rather than an action show so I understand why people aren’t as interested. But that fact coupled with the fact that it is 20+ years old while coming in 2nd says a lot about its staying power.

Literally can never get Prison Break to win one of these polls. It's always running up against these super generic normie shows that everyone has seen so it never has a statistical chance. All these other shows are horrendously egregiously boring and it sucks knowing how genuinely hooked you guys would get on Prison Break.

I'm shocked at how low Peaky Blinders is scoring. It's a decent length (not too long of an investment), and it's an incredible show with great casting. The acting & filming is fantastic and it's a period-piece. 6% of the votes is just downright disrespectful to the show!

I really enjoyed the first two seasons of Prison Break and the newer reboot. I thought it fell off really hard after that though. This was mostly due to the writer strike in 2007-2008 which affected many good shows. Prison Break was also a "super generic normie show" too, lets not get it twisted 😁

Hmmm... I didn't care for any of them... except Yellowstone, but I was living in Montana at the time so... I don't much care for crime dramas, and can't stand it when they try to sell you a bad guy as a hero, someone to feel sorry for...I have had to pay for every bad decision I have made in my life... no one has felt sorry for me, and I don't expect them to... Dexter is a perfect example of that. Let's make the serial killer the hero of the show... then people wonder what is wrong with our society. Sorry for the rant... my suggestion would be Vikings for what history they managed to include. The rest are the usual cops, politics, sordid situations, deception, the things our culture apparently places a high value on. I have watched at least one or more episode of all but Ozark which although I love the stars, I couldn't do the subject matter.

I’m going to say one last thing. I think you should just do a poll between The Wire and Ozark. I have a feeling The Wire will win because sooooo many people think it’s the best show of all time. I personally couldn’t get through it because it was too heavy and too REAL. Shows like that bring me down. Anyhoo, I did watch Ozark and thought it was a good show with GREAT acting, but it probably doesn’t compare to The Wire. IMHO Ozark is nowhere near as good as Breaking Bad or The Sopranos, but I did enjoy it. That is all. 😊

I hope in the future you will consider watching "Arcane" Netflix animated series. It's only 2 seasons and it's really well done. It's an animated series but not for kids. The 1st season has won awards. The 2nd season, which is the final season, is current airing on Netflix. Animation is amazing.

And after the recount it's...still Ozark 😆 Appreciate them trying to satisfy the audience, but with a Patreon this big, there's always going to be some people disappointed in selections. Hopefully nobody takes it personally, and just remember - you can always leave if they're doing something that doesn't interest you, and come back later when they do something that does. Like I didn't care at all about Dexter, but I did care about Sons. I've cancelled and re-subscribed probably 5 times in the past couple years.

DEFINITELY need to do LOST at some point. Even if you do ozark and the wire. LOST is a great show and regardless of what some thing about the ending the show is amazing. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. ive watched it at least 5 times all the way through. Every episode is good and the acting is top tier People felt the same way about the ending of the sopranos and the rest of the show was still worth watching.

thats a real shitty way to oppose one of the best shows ever made. sometimes there needs not be any resolution. it rings true in reality anyway. most of the time things DONT get resolved in real life. and you also exaggerated it immensly. true detective is one of the best shows out there. id prefer they did LOST overall. but i agree with True Detective. the first season alone would but tbh i wouldnt mind them NOT doing the wire either. ive seen it more than once and dont feel like watching it. i just wish "ozark" wasnt top pick. its good... but not that good lol

SOA was also one of the best as was Dexter. but LOST belongs with those shows as top tier shows. Ozark.... not so much. its good but not great

it ALWAYS has my vote. i would upgrade my tier to pay them just to do LOST. that is overall the best show ive watched. everything about it.

so was the sopranos and that show was still worth watching. LOST is WORTH watching. the LAST two episodes change nothing about the entire 6 seasons. the show rings as if it was made yesterday

you meant True Blood didnt you lol. while not a bad show. 24 is WAYYY too long. they would have to do 3 or 4 episodes per video.

I’ve seen every episode of Ozark and every episode of Lost. No offense, but I couldn’t stand Lost after season 1. I just kept hoping it would get better, but it kept getting worse. It seemed to me that the writers had no idea where they were going with it. I wish I had never watched it. On the other hand, while Ozark isn’t as good as Breaking Bad, few shows are. I’ve already watched it twice. Julia Garner and Laura Linney were amazing.

I 1000% agree with you. My all time favorite show. People complaining, aka spoiling the show before they have a chance to watch isn't nice. It will take you through every emotion and blow your minds Asia and BJ. I guarantee it or your money back!! :-p

Late to this poll so I obviously didn't vote in it, but Ozark beating The Wire is certainly something... Reminds me of a similar poll from another creator where The Wire lost to Sons of Anarchy. SOA and Ozark are good shows, but The Wire getting a little slept on and disrespected around here. Hopefully you guys will get to it at some point.
