PIG

We can’t post The Wire. But WE WILL post The Wire. :)

PIG

The first time I even heard of this show was when Terry Gross on Fresh Aire, NPR, interviewed Snoop. I was in the car like, who the hell is this person? So I checked it out. Now here we are. Snoop also murdered a woman and, though she understands why she did it, I don’t think she carries a lot of that life with pride from what I remember. She’s certainly an interesting person.

Joseph Heady

Yes your right about that and same I saw a interview on yt and then found the wire lol

The powder is lime, they put on the bodies

Vigorous Strongs

ASIA and BJ, I just realized that Cedric Daniels played by Lance Reddick starred in JOHN WICK movies as Charon worked as concierge at the Continental Hotel's New York City establishment.

KOTARO

If you are struggling to understand the dialect of Felicia "Snoop" Pearson, then you always have the option of turning on the closed captions, so as to never miss any piece of dialogue that either she or anyone else says in the show. For instance, y'all did not catch the part when "Snoop" mentioned to her fellow "Stanfield Crew" member & partner-in-crime, Chris Partlow, that they were running low on quicklime (Calcium Oxide) — which was the chemical compound that she subsequently sprinkled upon the just-murdered man's deceased body inside of the vacant row home where they then left said body to dissolve.

'Ring of Fire' was performed / recorded by Johnny Cash & written by his wife, June Carter Cash . . . which reminds me: if you have not yet watched it already, then y'all NEED to see-slash-react to 'Walk the Line' (2005). [By the way, I felt compelled to spell out "see-slash-react" simply for the silly sake of its slant rhyme scheme.] Said film co-stars Joaquin Phoenix & Reese Witherspoon as Johnny & June, respectively, plus includes both actors doing a stellar job of singing their own versions of many famous hit tunes by the pair (whether solo or duet). While you are at it, for that matter, maybe even make it a double feature of sorts — perhaps as two future consecutive posts, that is — by also doing a viewing of 'Ray' (2004), starring Jamie Foxx practically channeling Ray Charles. I promise that you can't miss with either of these two biopics, since both are emotionally moving & compelling flicks! Plus, I just have a hunch that both of you two will love each one a whole bunch!

I know Dennis is just a tv character, but I’m so happy for him. Made me smile so much

A Few Fun Facts FYI: [1] While we are clearly shown that Namond Brice's father is the imprisoned Barksdale Crew member, Roland "Wee-Bey" Brice, there is also another additional couple of characters who are blood relatives as well, although audiences were never technically made privy to this fact throughout the course of the show. However, many intently viewing fans did still pick up on the possibility, simply based on a shared surname. So, despite it never being explicitly stated in the show, creator David Simon has since revealed that (nephew of "Proposition Joe") Melvin "Cheese" Wagstaff (portrayed by Clifford Smith Jr. aka "Method Man") is indeed the father of Randy Wagstaff. Regarding Randy & "Cheese", who knows what all even happened with their relationship, or lack thereof, since Randy lives with his foster mother, Anna Jeffries, who Randy refers to as "Miss Anna". [2] Speaking of "Miss Anna" from Season 4: The actress who portrayed her, Denise Hart, actually played the role of another completely different character, simply called "Woman in Bar", all the way back in Season 1, Episode 8. The title of said past episode was "Lessons", coincidentally enough, considering how we have now reached the point of the show that covers the Baltimore school system (e.g. teachers teaching lessons to their students during classes). Anyway, you may recognize her as a woman who "Bunk" picks up at the bar, while he is out drinking with McNulty as per usual. Later, she called McNulty to come collect the majorly drunken "Bunk", as he had deliberately burned his own clothes in a bath tub at her apartment, so as to rid of "trace evidence" (e.g. perfume scents) in an attempt to hide his cheating habits from his significant other back home. [3] Speaking of which: Another actor also initially played a much more minor (one-off) role, an unnamed background character in this case, prior to eventually being utilized for a far more prominent part. In this specific instance, Gbenga Akinnagbe — the actor who portrayed the stoic, ruthless, brutal & cold-blooded / cold-hearted character of Chris Partlow — was previously only barely visible while appearing as (an) "Officer in Courtroom" during Episode 4 of Season 1, called "Old Cases". [4] Of the tight-knit group of young boys who often hang out together, the youngest & smallest among them is named Kenard. He is the one who mimicked & mocked Duquan aka "Dukie" when he said, "Dukie fight like a bitch, yo!" He is also one of the little kids back during Season 3 who "Bunk" saw acting like / pretending to be Omar, as said youngsters had earlier witnessed the shootout in which Tosha Mitchell was accidentally killed by friendly fire from Dante's erroneously aimed shot. In fact, Kenard is even the one who said the audible line, "It's my turn to be Omar!" When it comes to the Kenard role, it will mostly only ever feel like or seem as if it is just a bit part amid the grander scheme of things that take place within 'The Wire'. However, let's just say that Kenard is worth keeping in mind for sometime in the future. Stay tuned!

Did I miss the scene with Clarence Royce and his secretary, or was this scene not shown? I have the entire season on Blu-ray, so I know this scene exists.

KOTARO

I find Carcetti's character very boring. He's perhaps the only character in this show that could have been left out.

Mimi Sharkey

You have to turn on the subtitles if you don't understand Snoop. She's going to be very present during this season.

Naijeru

You missed it.

KOTARO

damn😂

KOTARO

ha ha ha, I can well imagine that😂

KOTARO

I will never forget Snoop and the Hilti DX 460!

Asia hit the nail on the head with feeling like it was an all new cast. This is the Duracell effect. They are showing you how old batteries get replaced with fresh batteries. This happens in every aspect of social structure. Also, as you guessed, you won’t be seeing much of McNulty this season. He (Dominic West) took this season off to be with his family. And in the first episode, what Snoop said was, “you earnt that buck like a MF…” meaning he earned the tip that she gave him for all of the information. Hope you get your technical issues sorted out soon. Can’t wait to get into this episode!😁👍🏻

ALX

After you’ve finished watching The Wire, I can highly recommend checking out the series Homeland

Kyndu

Blood in Blood out.

Sam Fisher

Oh! How could y’all forget Webay!! Webay was hard as a rock. A true captain. Webay was my fav character in the Barksdale camp. Then they got Slim Charles. He was a soldier legit.

Bill B.

Asia if youre out in BMore looking to score some of whatever they sell, are you going for “Pandemic” or “Spiderbags”? 🤣🤣 The names of the drugs in this show just kills me. And I just remember season 3 you asking “what is a spider bag?!??” Who knows lol

Daniel Moskowitz

Lol. I have to go Pandemic. That's only if they're out of Redtops of course.

KOTARO

M Salam
