Ethan Hawke was the dad from Sinister the writer and the druggie brother was 'Deputy so and so.' in Sinister too! The kids acting in this is so good. They should have won awards for it imo I don't think they did however.

The Grabber was one person. The man who wore the masks. His brother was visiting him and was staying at the Grabbers house. The house the cops showed up to when talking to neighbors and the brother let them in and was showing them the map (when the cops were there Finn was literally downstairs in the basement) and giving the cops theories. The Grabber knew his brother was getting close to figuring it out because of the map being in his living room. Then the brother finally figured it out, that’s why after he sniffed a line he looked up at the map and something clicked. that’s when he went downstairs to the basement and found Finn. The brother had nothing to do with the kidnapping or murders. Only the Grabber was involved.

No, it's official release date is October 17, but I follow a lot of movie reviewers who were able to screen it early at Fantastic Fest recently. Personally, I don't think it needed a sequel.

I figured I'd give this movie a shot once I saw that Ethan Hawke was in it and I'm happy that I did.. This was way better than I expected. I can't wait for The Black Phone 2 in 2 weeks.....but I'll wait and watch it with yall again 🤣

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who screamed bloody murder when the ghost of the paper boy popped up at 50:15!!! Followed by BJ with the “I see dead people” line, ya'll had me hollering 😂😂😂 And same—I guess I was confused too. I totally thought Ethan Hawke was the only psycho! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I didn’t realize his coked-out brother (grown-up Eddie from IT) was part of the main storyline. I thought he was just an entertaining secondary character who happened to discover his brother was the Grabber at the worst possible time. RIP 🪓🪓 You guys were spot-on about the mask changing from happy to upset, too. I totally missed that. Such a fun watch! Thanks!

Great reaction but idk where yall got lost in the sauce 😂😂😂 The grabber from beginning to end was the same person (Ethan Hawke) His face was mostly covered the whole time which is maybe why he looked different at the end. His brother who was snorting drugs had no idea what was going on in the basement where Finn and the other boys were being held. If you remember, he told the cops he wasn’t from there he was just temporarily staying with his brother who was the grabber the whole time.

You will notice in the background of the living, when Finney is sneaking through the house while the Grabber is sleeping, the board that Max was using to pinpoint places of abduction of the other kids.

The brother was innocent! The reason he was gonna let Finnie go is because his brother showed up and created a problem with his plan to kill Finnie…his brother was just doing coke and trying to figure out who the grabber was, which he did when he looked at the map and then walked downstairs to investigate. The voices were saying Your arm is Mint based on what the baseball player who disappeared, because when he did not strike him out in the game because he was distracted by the girl the baseball kid said “You almost had me your arm is mint” Last thing in my opinion the little girl killed this role as an actress” SHOOT! 🧡✨

The Brother Max didn’t know Finn was in the basement of the second house. He was genuinely a good guy(coke head but good guy) that was trying to investigate and find out where the kid was. When he looked at the map he realized that it was next door. 1.Max is high and focused on the pattern — he’s drawing lines connecting the known abduction sites and drop points. 2. As he plots the points, he realizes that all the strings converge around one house — his own street. 3. When he double-checks the direction of each line, he notices the intersection points lead to the house right next door (which is actually the other property owned by his brother, the Grabber). 4. That’s when it clicks: the killer has been hiding the victims literally next door. 5. Unfortunately, right after he figures it out, he goes downstairs to tell Finney—and his brother, the Grabber, kills him to silence him.

The "Grabber" was the same person the whole time (Ethan Hawke). The brother didn't know anything about it. He was actually trying to help the cops with the investigation. He realized when looking close at the map that the lines were pointing to his house and that's why he went down to the basement. The Grabber came home and realized he was busted and had to kill him. Side note: The kids' mom had the same "gift" as the daughter. She ended up hanging herself because of it and that's why the dad was an alcoholic and abuser. He didn't believe his wife and doesn't believe his daughter.

The house is across the street, not next door. But that is the house that was empty where he buried the kids after he killed them. The house they both live in is the house where he keeps the kids while they're alive. You can see the investigation board when Finney tries to escape.

No, the grabbers brother was just in town crashing at his house for a moment. He told the detective where he lived. Your all over the place with you analyzation of the movie. The Grabber owned 2 homes and it was just a random neighbor that heard him yell when he was outside. But this is a good movie. How the sister and brother are close, thats how close me and my sister are still till this day. She was my partner in crime when we were kids.

Anyway, I'm just here to say having grown up in the 70's, kids were allowed to run all over the place. You were wondering why lil sis was riding her bike alone in the rain... we were the "be home when the street lights come on" generation. And back then, we didn't have 911.

I've noticed a few comments complaining that Asia and BJ got the ending wrong. If you are a fan of these two its because of how real and honest they are. We don't watch them to see them get it perfect every time, we watch cause we trust that this is really the first time they have seen this movie. None of us can say that we have gotten every movie we have ever watched right on the first watch. I thought this was a great reaction and its why we love these two so much. i'm sure there are reaction channels that claim its there first watch and then make sure they get every little thing right and if that's something you like i'm sure there are channels out there for you. For me though and the rest of there fans this is why we watch them because they are real and honest. I really hope they do Black Phone 2 when it comes out.

It's a justified criticism... Of course not everyone will get EVERY movie they watch the first time, but most adults absolutely get the overwhelming majority of films they watch the first time, WHICH ASIA AND BJ DO. You can love a creator and still critique them, and you definitely shouldn't be telling them to screw off and go watch someone else over criticism. This isn't Inception, Arrival, or some arthouse film. If your job is reacting to movies and you can't simply distinguish one character from another despite them not looking the same, or miss every major plot point when they're explicitly given to you, that's a valid critique. For example, they watched Iron Man 2, Black Widow is sprinkled throughout that entire movie, and then Asia says, "who is she" in Avenger's, that's frustrating, or they've watched 3 marvel movies with infinity stones, get to another marvel movie with a infinity stone, and BJ says this is their first time seeing any infinity stones, that is frustrating...it not missing "little things" when you completely miss every major plot point and mix up whole characters and no one is asking them to watch the movie first.
