Awesome 80's Sci-fi! Thanks VIP!

Kev

Lol I saw the patreon notification to this movie. Confused it for Star Kid (1997) from the title. Starman is also a great movie! Star Kid is also such a nostalgic sleeper hit. Great 90's sci-fi film. I'm rewatching tomorrow now.

Thanks VIP such a great 80s flick! Hard to miss with any movie Jeff Bridges is in. Asia and BJ should totally check out Crazy Heart sometime as well.

FLORIDABOYYY

Voyager 2 is currently in interstellar and is still traveling sending back images. Launched in 1977 they expected the mission to last only 5 years and now its close to 50 years. Space is beyond huge. It would take thousands of years before it leaves the galaxy 😮

Vigorous Strongs

ASIA and BJ, ya'll need to watch Jeff Bridges other movies Tron (1982), Tron: Legacy (2010), and now his newest edition Tron: Ares (2025) which is based on 1980's Arcade game TRON. NO SPOILERS here, just basic introduction. YOU'LL LOVE IT!!! Who agrees with me?

Vigorous Strongs

Thank you BARB. This is truly a relevant movie to our time.

Vigorous Strongs

Lifeforce (1985) is another great movie. It's also relevant movie to our time because we are going to have Supernatural Angelic Entities (Antichrist/Satan and his Fallen Angels) coming here as a plan of God using them as sifters (sift good souls from bad) except they're going to be ALL masculine in nature and all adults in the 33 years of men age. They're going to be young in nature, supernatural, gorgeous, muscular, and pure EVIL with extreme flattery, bearing gifts to sway humanity from God's Truth, and not a baby as Yahshuah Jesus Christ (baby, supernatural, muscular, gorgeous, and HOLY) from the Bible was, is, and always will be. "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." ------ Revelation 12:7-9 KJV.

Holy crap I forgot all about this movie !!!! I watched it as a kid snd my only memory from this is a naked man wondering around 😂😂

JL Green

I throughly enjoyed this movie particularly because this was a different venue for John Carpenter who's stock in trade was the horror genre. I initially saw this movie in the theater and I think this was the first time I appreciated Jeff Bridges' acting style.

James C

Love it 😍. This was on my Patreon list.. If I recall “Green light go, Red light stop, yellow light go very fast”..🤪🤪

Great VIP pick. One of my favorites from the 80s. Watched it bunches. Happy to watch it again with you all.

Lloyd Bridges is the patriarch of an acting family, most famous for his sons, actors Beau and Jeff Bridges. His wife, Dorothy Bridges, was also an actress and poet who was instrumental in inspiring her children's creativity. Beau’s son is also an actor.

Michele Pérez

I was young as well and I remember that too. 😂😂

I first watched this movie was way back in 90's and the deer scene still makes me cry. Thanks for the reaction guys.

Tiffany Payne

Please do Tales from Crypt tv, Creepshow, Tales from th4 Darkside -all 80s movies

Jacqueline Young

I haven't seen this in so long, but I can honestly say I don't remember the scene where he grew up right in front of her. Wow and hard pass!

James C

Movies that should have had a sequel are “Starman” “Leon The Professional” and “Kelly’s Heroes”..it’s not to late for “The Professional”. Thanks to Barb for requesting this.👍👍.. And Asia is right. No alien 👽 swap look alike. Remember BJ, the alien wasn’t Scott..😃

Bonnie Smith

Ooooh my god. I forgot about this one! Such a classic - man, I love older movies.

Barb Just Barb

I really expected there would be a sequel to this movie. I recall that there was a very short-lived TV show a couple years after the movie that was supposed to be kind of a sequel about the kid. But the reviews were terrible, and I never watched it because the original characters were replaced by other people. Jeff Bridges and Karen Allen were so wonderful in these roles! It seemed like sacrilege to try recasting them. Oh, by the way, that kissing scene on the beach the Starman was watching on TV is a famous scene from the movie From Here to Eternity, I think the reason it looked familiar to you is that they satirized it in the movie Airplane! With seaweed all over them. 😄 This was by far one of the most enjoyable reactions I’ve ever seen. Thanks so much, Asia & BJ! 🤗

Dan Gershgol

Never heard of this one. Very Enjoyable.

Susie L

Thanks, Barb - another great movie from my childhood

pkleo73

I have never seen this movie... that I'm aware of. Lol If I did I was super young. Something else to watch this evening. 😁😏

This reminded me of the Black Mirror episode "Be Right Back" where a woman's husband dies in a car crash and she orders an AI doll version of him in the mail that has his memories. Speaking of Black Mirror you guys should react to it. I think it would make for great content!

Ryan Towell

My parents had this on VHS I watched it a lot as a kid in the 80's Still one of my fav's.

Ryan Towell

New Jersey and Oregon I believe still have full service gas stations where you cannot pump your own gas. When I was a kid back in the 70s and even earlier 80s our local stations they came out, pumped your gas, checked your fluids and air pressure in tires. Those were good days

Ryan Towell

The kissing on the beach film was From Here to Eternity. You all reacted to the film "Airplane" That scene was spoofed in Airplane which might be why it looked familiar. Funny enough Jeff Bridges' dad Lloyd Bridges starred in Airplane as the Airport director/manager whatever that picked the wrong day to quit smoking, drinking, taking amphetamines and sniffing glue".

Barb Just Barb

Yep, they always washed the windshield too!

D.M. Creger

fyi Robert Hays played him in the TV version, Starman (1986). Robert Hays also played the lead, Ted Striker, in Airplane.
