Yes! Another John Hughes classic!

Caitlin O'Connell

Perfect timing on the upload! I just sat down with my lunch for the last eight hours of my shift, and lucky me—I’ve got no work left for the day. I am excited to see y'all react to this classic!😁🍿🎥

Joseph Perdue

The scene that influenced Home Alone was when Miles is sitting in front of the mail slot

Edgar Gonzalez

Yes! Classic movie, first time john candy and Macaulay Culkin worked together. Film came out in 1989, and a great family fun film. R.I.P John Candy 🙏❤️

RollingAcres47

OMG love this! Inject this nostalgia straight into my veins! Thanks, Asia and BJ!

Matthew Barney

Great movie choices, but I’m a keep saying it even if it takes me the rest of the year to say this, Reindeer Games is one of those movies I’m telling y’all

Eric

Shout out to Amy Madigan, who played Buck’s girlfriend Chanice. She also recently played sweetie pie Aunt Gladys in Weapons 🤡

CD

Omg!!! I’m so glad you guys did this, one of my all time favs!!! So happy to see this posted 🤩

Kain D. Zero

Hell, yeah! This is one of my favourite John Candy movies. )

Deborah Lewis

This movie at my 64yrs makes me cry too; 3 teenage girls drove us crazy...but now my grown daughters apologized for teen years😉❤️Miss you John everyday🤣❤️

Brian Dittman

Crazy how the girlfriend of Buck, Chanice was played by "Amy Madigan" who also played the evil lady in the new 2025 movie "Weapons"

Soph

Omg no way!!!!!! I never connected the 2!!

Kain D. Zero

I hope someone who is going to vote in 2 hours sees this: I'd love Asia and BJ to see this movie: Tucker & Dale VS Evil If someone could vote for it on my behalf I'd appreciate it. It's 1.20 am now for me and I have an early work day in 6 and half hours from now so need to go to sleep. The voting time is terrible for me (3am) Thank you in advance!

Poopy McDoodooface

Such a great movie. I can't wait to watch the reactions later.

This is my FAVORITE John candy movie. That freeze frame at the end always makes me cry !!! Uncle Buck was such a nice guy. Even in the beginning. His brother who he doesn’t talk to often, calls at 2am asking him to come watch the kids and he jumps up and goes, no questions asked. He makes breakfast even though he doesn’t know how. He does the laundry even though the washing machine is broken. He takes care of the boys birthday, goes to school conferences. He really did his absolute best, despite not knowing what the hell he was doing, he at least tried. I just love him !!!

Michele G

Yall should watch the documentary about John candy “I like me”. It was so good and he was genuinely a great person !! Not to react to, just watch it on your own. It really is good

Jay Rivera

Never seen. I’m down fam :)

Mr Jackpots

I had an Uncle like Buck. He was the only adult that I actually liked when I was kid, probably because he was like a kid who never grew up. I'll never forget him.

Davey11

Everybody loves John Candy.

RollingAcres47

You can tell from the look on Uncle Buck's face when he pulls up at the school and sees Bug for the first time, he knew he was a total scumbag.

I'm just Joe King

I just realized his girl is the clown/witch in Weapons.

Mikey

ugh Uncle Buck is a true classic! I love this movie so damn much

Claudette

It's way too late for today's pick, but I promise I will include in my attempts next month. Tucker & Dale vs Evil is a great movie!

RollingAcres47

Not sure if it's a heritage thing, but I come from a Czechoslovak background. We love stuff like sauerkraut, onions, mustard, Worcestershire sauce (pronounced "worse-tish-sure.") I would have demolished Uncle Buck's breakfast.

Poopy McDoodooface

Such a fantastic movie. John Candy was great. You guys have to watch The Great Outdoors. It's another one of John Candy's best movies. That movie also has Dan Akroyd. Thank you Asia & BJ for another awesome movie reaction 👏 😀

RollingAcres47

Felix the Cat is an old school cartoon character from like the Mickey Mouse era.

Kain D. Zero

Thank you. I really appreciate this. ❤️

Beebel bob

This is an outstanding film and of my all time favorites. John Candy is LOVED my so many people, This movie Uncle Buck and his others, cemented John Candy into our hearts. I first watched it when it came out in video and my Dad rented it for the weekend. We’d talk about it and laugh about it all the time. Sometime hopefully very soon yall should watch another great comedy movie he did “The Great Outdoors”

Beebel bob

I 1,000% agree. The Great Outdoors is another bedrock film from when I was a kid.. “Big…. Big…. Big bear…..” John Candy is an absolute legend and I hope they watch The Great Outdoors sooner than later

Beebel bob

Yall have to watch another legendary movie John Candy did “The Great Outdoors

Uncle Buck's girlfriend plays Gladys the witch in Weapons. The actress is Amy Madigan.

M4RRS

There is no way you two seriously meant it when y'all asked and wondered what happened after the patriarch mentioned to the matriarch that them movin' had nothing to do with what happened, right? 'Cause, I mean, like literally less than a minute of movie runtime earlier, obviously you both had clearly heard and saw that phone call in regards to the matriarch's dad having suffered a heart attack.

M4RRS

Fun Facts: Actresses Amy Madigan, who played Buck Russell's girlfriend Charice Kobolowski, and Gaby Hoffmann, who played the younger daughter Maizy Russell, both also worked together in the film 𝘍𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘋𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴 as mother and daughter characters, respectively. In that one, Amy Madigan portrayed Annie Kinsella, whose spouse was Ray Kinsella (portrayed by Kevin Costner), while Gaby Hoffmann portrayed their daughter Karin Kinsella. Additionally, both movies were released during the same year, 1989: 𝘍𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘋𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴 came out in April, whereas 𝘜𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘦 𝘉𝘶𝘤𝘬 followed merely a few months later in August.

I’ve watched this movie 30 times at least since I was a kid and barely noticed that the littlest girl and the girlfriend both played in one of my favorite movies of all time Field of Dreams so im guessing it was suggested for them to work together again!

M4RRS

While going with her first instinct, Asia was indeed spot-on in correctly guessing 1989 as the year when this movie came out, whereas 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘈𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦 and 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘈𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦 2 were released in 1990 and 1992, respectively. On a related note, I think you two need to see 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘚𝘰𝘯 (1993), which depicted Macaulay Culkin in a whole new light — or darkness, rather — as a sneakily, secretly sick, sadistic, twisted, malicious, vicious, villainous, evil, demented, twelve-year-old kid.

You have to tell the rest of the story about how you saved BJs life while he was hanging Xmas lights.

M4RRS

Nah, Buck didn't drive from a different state. That just simply wouldn't make sense, especially since he knew everyone at the bowling alley when he took the kids there. So, he is not too far from home. In fact, if you notice, he did mention that he has been out in the suburbs to watch and take care of the kids at his brother's house. Earlier on, when Bob first called to ask Buck for his assistance while Bob and Cindy had to go out of town to tend to her father's emergency medical situation, Buck was shown living in inner city Chicago close to Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs MLB franchise. During the phone call, Buck clapped on "The Clapper", which somehow accidentally caused some of the lights at the nearby stadium to turn on besides just those inside of Buck's pad. Buck's brother Bob and sister-in-law Cindy, along with their children Tia, Miles and Maizy, had recently moved from Indianapolis, Indiana to Evanston, Illinois, which is a suburb of Chicago.

Soph

Was this filmed last year? I’m confused lol. Home alone 2 is up in 2024

Kain D. Zero

The hug at 1:39 made me shed a tear. :)

Kain D. Zero

I'm so happy you got to see this movie.

Kain D. Zero

I'm gonna say now that this is my favorite John Candy movie. Planes, Trains & Automobiles is very good but in this movie John Candy is able to shine even more.

Jesse McAdams

I said it before but John Candy is the one actor that I would bring back if I could. I miss his movies. Look into what Macaulay Culkin said about John Candy. How he was a father figure in the movies that they were in together and even after. Candy also acted in Home Alone for only $400 as a favor to the director.

Dylanja

Pretty sure they've done it already.

Dylanja

Rewatching this it's crazy how many of the Culkin scenes are pretty much reused/reimagined in Home Alone. Singing doing dishes, looking through the mail slot, talking matter-of-factly like an adult, it's almost like a prequel. A+ movie, great reaction.

Carol Rocha

Let’s go!! Yes!! A fun one!!!

Carol Rocha

Please watch “The Family Stone” Great Christmas Movie!!

Carol Rocha

Ok. I can’t get VENMO to swap to full screen on my phone. What’s up

Carisa

PS - the next John Candy movie you HAVE to see is The Great Outdoors.. :) BJ - your shirt reminds to remind you of another movie also...Lost In Space. Not terrific, but not terrible. lol

Matthew B

As a GenXer… it’s so funny seeing younger generations say things like “she’s too young to be out that late” or “they’re too young to be left alone at home.” 😂 That’s why we’re GenX! Our Boomer parents didn’t care. 😜

She said she wanted to hear the pitter patter of tiny feet before she dies, so he said he'd get her a mouse and a piece of sheet metal.
