Ah Mickey Rourke played this part amazingly. An aging wrestler trying to push through in life despise bad health. Huge wrestling fan, from NWO, WCW, WWF. And ECW Shouts out to the fam and any wrestling fans out there! 💪♥️

I love this movie. The wrestler Mick Foley (Mankind/ Cactus Jack/ Dude Love)said after seeing this movie that felt it was a realistic protrayal of how some wrestlers end up, and that it was true that a lot of wrestlers would rather die than not get their finisher off. As a 50 year old fan of wrestling since I was 10 I've evolved in my appreciation for the medium. Very few wrestlers are able to carve out careers that theyre able to still generate interest. Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair those are the mega stars that kept things going for longer than thr average. The average wrestler has to work very hard, 6 days a week and sometimes 2 shows in a day. On the road away from your family, the physical toll that it takes on you wrestling injured because you have to make the money. I have a lot of respect for wrestlers because its a live performance no cuts in the action and retakes. They have to go out and communicate a story through the physical violence and sway the crowds emotions. Its live theater in many ways. It might be cool if yall.did some reactions to some classic wrestling matches, WWEs catalog is available on Peacock. A match like the Undertaker vs Mankind in the Hell in the Cell match at King of the Ring 1998 is iconic. The Vice documentary series Dark Side of the Ring is excellent in telling the behind the scenes stories of wrestlers lives.

So, I am only at the beginning thus far, and Asia keeps repeating that Randy "The Ram" definitely must be a real person. However, just so you know, he was actually a fictional character, created solely for this film, called Robin Ramzinski (his real government name) aka Randy "The Ram" Robinson (his in-ring persona / gimmick name). Although, this story does tell a truthful tale usin' the inclusion of many cold, hard facts about the lives of former big name stars who, while they may be way past their primes, will still choose to chug along and plug away upon the small scene of the independent wrestling circuit all in the name of love for the game.

Darth Brooks

Just jumping in and BJ talking about all the legends of wrestling y'all should definitely watch The Iron Claw.

Matthew Stewart

I haven't seen The Iron Claw yet but The Peanut Butter Falcon was pretty good.

Fun Facts FYI: Actress Marisa Tomei played Pam aka Cassidy (stage name), the dancer who was the favorite one of Robin Ramzinski aka Randy "The Ram" Robinson. Y'all may recall having seen her before, as she portrayed Mona Lisa Vito, the stylish, sharp-witted fiancée of Vincent LaGuardia Gambini (Joe Pesci) in the 1992 movie 𝘔𝘺 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯 𝘝𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘺. As an expert mechanic and hairdresser, her unexpected yet crucial/critical/vital/pivotal testimony, which illustrated her vast automotive knowledge, assisted in Vinny "winning" the trial for his clients: two "yutes" (youths) who were wrongfully accused, including his young cousin. Tomei's tremendous, terrific and incredibly iconic performance earned her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in the aforementioned film. Similarly, Mickey Rourke's work in 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘳 got him nominated for an Academy Award in the category of Best Actor, albeit he didn't wind up winnin' said Oscar.

I understand the ending. I assume the character died but they didn't want us to see it but rather wanted us to decide the ending which is a beautiful way
