Oh man... I remember when the REAL Selena passed away, it was so sad and such a big deal. Although I was like 5 or 6 and didn't really listen to any of her music, I remember that all of the Mexican community in San Diego CA were heartbroken the day Selena was murdered on March 31, 1995. I don't like Jennifer Lopez (Actually, a lot of people don't 😁) But this movie was made (With some Hollywood freedom) to tell the life of the REAL Selena Quintanilla-Pérez and that alone is enough for me to watch this reaction again and again. R.I.P Selena ❤️🙏 P.S We lost Chuck Norris on the 19th of this month. Funny that it was just a few days after Asia and BJ did "Enter The Dragon", because Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee bot fought in the 1972 movie "The Way Of The Dragon" 🥋🙏

When I was in High School our Top40 station had Selena on heavy rotation for only about 2 weeks before her murder. It was really shocking and sad.

I live in San Antonio and can recognize all the scenes filmed here. Like at the very beginning, that wasn't filmed at the astrodome, it was filmed at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Haven't seen this in a while!! Selena was amazing!! Such a tragic loss! And to answer your question Asia.. that is Selenas voice and not JLo's.. she is just lip-singing.. Im not even really sure how well she can actually sing.. you know how rappers have "ghost writers"? Well JLo got "ghost singers" and their names are Ashanti and Christina Milian.. crazy!! BUT for as much as im not a fan of hers, I do think she has given some great acting performances. 😁

Menudo is a soup made of beef tripe and hominy and spices usually eaten for breakfast. Im Hispanic and also will not eat it, mostly because its very greasy. I feel like it would be quicker to just mainline crisco if I want to fill my veins with grease.

This was such a great movie and musical bio movie. There are tons of great Bio movies for bands and singers out there but this one was a really really good one. Selena was such an amazing singer and artist. I'll be honest and say i didn't appreciate her musical talent until I got older. Such a beautiful life cut so short. You are absolutely right ! I love Jennifer Lopez’s acting skill in this movie and she absolutely nailed this role but her singing was always suspicious to me. I knew she was lip syncing Selena’s music but I just recently learned that she was also lip syncing her music as well. It’s actually disgusting some of the things we’ve learned about the music industry in the past several years.

In one of her interviews she was asked what some of her influences were and she goes... her dad and some musical groups but then she mentions AC/DC. The interviewer goes "don't see much of AC/DC" in what she does lol. I thought that was pretty cool though.

J Lo was not worthy, to kiss Selena’s feet. Selena was a loving, humble & kind person. J Lo was & is arrogant, selfish & narcissistic. She was good in this movie but the way she behaved afterwards, was not nice. Now J Lo is a hot mess.

Selena had 2 locations in Texas with her own clothing line. Apparently she was going to open a 3rd one around the time she died. From what I read they closed 2009. It's so heartbreaking. She was talented beautiful and just starting her life. Wanting to start a family and some lowlife takes it all away. I feel so badly for her family I cant even imagine the kind of pain they feel without her.

After all these years I still tear up when I see this movie. When she was taken from us I met my now latina wife. I learned about Selena and fell in love with her music as well as other Latin artists.

I haven't seen this in a while. I was so happy watching it and enjoying her journey and then when it got to her winning the Grammy I just burst into tears because I remembered then that she wasn't here anymore and I was just heart broke. So senseless that she was taken away, sad.
