Spock going cray. 😜

Jay Rivera

Got the poster signed where Spock is standing in the lava with the fire around him. Thank you Zachary Quinto. LONG LIVE JJ ABRAMS SCI-FI!!!!! 🤘 do the third and I’ll watch. I hear it was great just never saw because I think no JJ on that one.

IRISH KEV

Great movie and reaction. So good to see Billy Butcher again 😀 Would love to see the original 60s TV show and all the Star Trek movies on this channel plus my favourite - The Next Generation. Hopefully one day it will win a poll and you guys will see how amazing it is. Benedict Cumberbatch is so good in this movie. Asia and BJ you will know him as the voice of the dragon smaug in the hobbit trilogy as well as Dr Strange. He is an incredible actor. He also plays Sherlock Holmes in a brilliant BBC series it's so good and worth checking out in the future

Kevin Landon

Violet is gonna jump through her roof! Lol

Hoping Black Panther is next film reaction one more film left til infinity war

Delia Sewell

So, maybe you guys should react to Stsr Trek Next Generations TV series. I would love to watch it with you guys. One of my favorite Star Trek series.

Delia Sewell

I had to laugh. I had a friend that never watched Star Trek. I introduced her & that was when she found out were the phrase "Beam me up Scottie" came from. Asia sounded just like her.

RollingAcres47

This was my favorite one of this reboot trilogy.

RollingAcres47

Khan in this is also Dr. Strange, and the voice of Smaug the Dragon in The Hobbit (my favorite voice in movie history).

MacGuffinStuff

Blast from the past if I get a vote, recommend you guys watch the older stuff. These movies are a great franchise reboot but the OG stuff is awesome, meaning The Original Series and The Next Generation (my favorite), the shows and the movies are fun. Some reaction channels have done this thing where they watched a few sort of "best of"episodes from TOS, to get to know the cast from the beginning, including the episode that introduced Khan, and then you'll really enjoy the movies, they're a lot of fun.

Red

You can watch all Star Treks on Paramount Plus

Cameron

Hell yea! This so made my night, you guys rock

Willie Oaxaca

Y’all gotta watch the classic Star Trek to see how mid the new ones are

David Pevar

The Doctor is played by Karl Urban. Which would explain why he looked like Billy Butcher without the beard

Davey11

Asia & BJ, I wonder if you noticed the actor that plays Doc McCoy in thi Star Trek movie series, is also Billy Butcher in The Boys

Cameron

This one's my favorite of the trilogy. The theme is pretty overt, but Sacrifice. From Spock willing to die in the volcano as not to disturb the primitive civilization, the father who committed the terrorist attack to save his daughter, Marcus willing to destroy The Enterprise to cover up a conspiracy, Khan befriending and betraying Kirk to get revenge on Marcus and save his crew, and finally Kirk dying from radiation to save The Enterprise. Different characters with different motives, all sacrificing in their own way, with selfish vs selfless intent. And the plot is solid, I love the false flag/conspiracy plot to start a war twist. And even though both Khan and Marcus are villains, you can understand their viewpoints and sympathize with them even if you don't agree, the mark of great writing. Really solid film

I dont think you could pay me to watch this movie again. As a life long trekkie I can confidently say this is an absolute travesty. It's like the mirror universe version of wrath of khan. It's like they didnt have anyone with a functioning brain read this script. Clearly no one with even a limited understanding of basic science or Trek knowledge was allowed to view this abomination before it was finished. Cold fusion freezes a volcano? What LOL? Cold fusion is not cold. There is nothing cold about it. It's name derives from the fact that its slightly less hot than regular fusion. Khan uses a transporter to go from Earth to Kronos. Well if they can do that what do they need starships for. Just beam to whatever planet you want to go to. Never mind the fact that without a ship and a warp core the fastest the transporter could have sent khan towards Kronos was at the speed of light. Kronos is supposed to be somewhere between 90-112 light years from Earth so khan wouldnt materialize on Kronos for 90 to 112 after he left Earth. There is so much more wrong here but I'm sure no one wants to read it lol. If you went this far already Im sorry. Thanks for attending my nerd convention.

Mister Lou

I guess everybody knows this guy as Billy Butcher..? And here i am that always sees him as banished nephew E'omer of Rohirrim...

Mister Lou

Also Alice Eve, the smart looking girl who went to either Yale or Harvard, you might remember her from the comedy She's Out of my League 😆

Deep Dives

Couldn't agree more!

Deep Dives

Its funny, the best of episodes are subjective! Some of the ones that show real character nuance and development are never on the list!

Deep Dives

Definitely Blast from the past! See where it all started with the Original Series and then the Next Generation.

Richard Zinns

And of course Eomer in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Richard Zinns

Khan is first introduced in the original series episode Space Seed, followed by the movie Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (probably the high point of the entire Star Trek franchise); Star Trek: Into Darkness contains a couple of very specific callbacks to that movie during Kirk's (temporary) death scene. You apparently associate Peter Weller with villain roles (he did play one in a two-part episode of Star Trek: Enterprise), but he also did play Robocop. The tribble, the little creature which McCoy injects with Khan's blood, is a reference to the classic original series episode The Trouble with Tribbles, and McCoy's reference to delivering Gorn octuplets refers to a creature called a Gorn from the episode Arena. Carol Marcus is a character first introduced in The Wrath of Khan, and Captain Christopher Pike, Kirk's mentor in this movie, can be seen in the two-part original series episode The Menagerie, much of which consists of recycled footage from The Cage, the rejected first Star Trek pilot episode which was not shown to the public until decades later. The phrase "Beam me up, Scotty" is never actually spoken on the show or in the movies, but became popular as a kind of typical thing that Kirk might say to Scott, very much like "Elementary, my dear Watson" (which Sherlock Holmes never actually says in the original stories), or "Play it again, Sam" (which Rick Blaine never actually says in the movie Casablanca), or "Come with me to the Casbah" (which Charles Boyer's character never actually says to Hedy Lamar's character in the movie Algiers).

As Asia would say, "I need you to focus". Listen. Asia and Bj made it CLEAR that they did not grow up nor see the OG's, so when you pour your hate and bias toward this fam... You're just making more issues. As a Star Trek fan, I do agree they should've started with the original films, but circumstance was not. Respect their opinion and most of all perspective. Im assuming we all grew up with the originals, yet from a fresh perspective, Asia and BJ act as a fresh and new perspective towards a franchise that's lasted since the 1960s. Have a heart will you?

Bonez N Tonez

Stop, you're making life bad when you type paragraphs of die hard nerd bs that no one would know unless they're a die hard like yourself. I agree mostly tbh, but I would never flaunt my bias towards anyone.

Jesse Wilson

Lol I didnt actually watch their reaction so I dont know what they thought about. As you could probably tell im not a fan of the film. I dont need to see their reaction to this one. Also it doesn't bother me if people like it. Im glad they enjoy it. I just shared my thoughts on the film in the comments like everyone else. I see most people seem to enjoy it. It drives me into nerd rage lol so maybe there are some fellows who dislike the film too and we can commiserate about it together.

Richard Zinns

I'm not sure what you mean by bias, I'm just trying to provide information that may be useful. Star Trek: Into Darkness is a movie that is largely aimed at an audience of existing Star Trek fans who are presumed able to catch its many references to prior Star Trek material, so for those less familiar with the sources of those references it may be helpful to know where they can be found. If that's of no interest to you, skip the comment.

Dan Gershgol

You should go back and watch the original movies. This was good. Beam me up Scotty was never said just like that. It has become a general phrase when combining all the different ways they said it originally.

Deep Dives

And of course theirs no coincidence that the "bad robots" from the writers and director are responsible for not only the implosion of this franchise but that of Star Wars too! So damn the people that don't get it!

Dylanja

**Starship Enterprise going down in flames** Asia says "Maaaan, take that thang to the auto-parts store!" 🤣🤣🤣

Samantha Hughes

Can't wait for you guys to watch the 3rd movie. Star Trek: Beyond

Poopy McDoodooface

This was another great movie. Thank Asia & BJ and great reactions once again. Can't wait for the next one... or the next series poll. Here are some suggestions for the next Asia & BJ series poll. Silicon Valley, 2020, 6 seasons The Pacific 2010 10 part miniseries (about the war in the Pacific in WWII) (produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg who also produced Band of Brothers) The Offer 2022 10 part limited series (based on the crazy true story behind the making of The Godfather) Ghosts (US Version) 2021 5 seasons It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia 2005 17 seasons Modern Family 2009 11 seasons Yellowstone 2018 5 seasons Boardwalk Empire 2010 5 season

Andrew Jones

Kahn has the physical strength of 5 men with genius intellect and enhanced durability and agility. So he can easily overpower any normal human. Spock is about 3x stronger than a human so significantly stronger than a human but still weaker than kahn obviously.

Aaron Barlow

Funny that Karl Urban normally speaks with a Kiwi accent as he's from New Zealand, so he puts on an American accent for his normal Star Trek speech and a UK cockney accent for The Boys.

Aaron Barlow

Zachary Quinto was in 'Heroes' tv show years ago.

Millie L

These new Star Trek movies are bad in terms of Star Trek and just feel like something very different instead of actual Star Trek. But I actually weirdly love the next movie and hope you guys end up watching it. Star Trek Beyond is enjoyable; it actually has some real Trek heart behind it, IMO.

Kyndu

Is there a link to Star Trek 2009?
