This was the first movie I ever saw Leo in and I thought he really had special needs until I saw him on Growing Pains and realized holy cow he doesn’t. Which made me love him even more as an actor cuz he did an incredible job. He should have won an Oscar, but he was nominated for his role in the movie.

This was the first movie I had ever seen Leo in and I really thought he was special needs. I remember thinking how talented this young man was to be special needs AND be a phenomenal actor. Then a couple of years later I saw Titanic and my mind was blown !! He’s so freakin good !!

This was so wonderful! Thanks Asia & BJ and thanks again to Rebecca! FWIW - trying to say this without spoilers - I thought when she went up the stairs she knew what she would do up there. Leo Dicaprio did an astonishing job in this movie. When this hit the theaters it was the first time I had seen him aside from Growing Pains, and WOW. Hard to believe he didn’t win an Oscar for this.

Leonardo DiCaprio was in his 20's when he did this movie Johnny Depp was in his 30's and the older woman Johnny Depp is with in here is Mary Steenburgen she was in that Time after Time movie about Jack the ripper the younger on the bike is Juliette Lewis not hinger games she was in the Cape fear movie and she was also in from dusk till Dawn and last the guy that plays the mortician he played George McFly in the back to the future movies Crispin Glovesr

As a mother of an adult son with Asperger's Syndrome which falls on the Autistic spectrum, you have no idea how challenging life can be! The autism spectrum is just that, A range of behaviors ....Obsessive Compulsive Dis order, ADHD, severe anxiety or panic attacks, mood disorder from manic depression to severe depression, or emotional disorders inability to regulate emotions from extreme rage or fits of crying or no sense of time at all. It differs everyday...My first husband could not handle it and would leave every time something happened....and my daughter would try and fill in the gaps..So right after my mom died from a battle with leukemia even after a stem cell transplant, my Narcissistic husband finally left..... and i was left to put our world back together..... That is when God brought me the man of my dreams .....I was 50 and he was 34 ...We were together as friends for years before we got engaged ...and we have been married 9 yrs now and he loves my kids like they were his....yes their is a 15 yr age gap but who cares he is 45 I am 60 its just a number and he is finer than wine ...we have the best relationship and he has mentored my son into the man he is today...I am so blessed... And we all have struggles but you have to embrace th good and dont sweat the small stuff....xoxoxox

Hey Rebecca late here but if you never seen Sling Blade that's a great one too. I remember when Gilbert Grape came out and didn't think much of it. Thought the title was weird and didn't catch my interest. Years later I thought what the hell I'll give it a try and what a great movie! Goes to show don't judge a book by its cover but in this case movie lol.
