Look up the back story on him writing this franchise. He was homeless and wrote Rocky. Sold his dog because he needed the $. Was offered $150k but insisted he be in it. Studio declined. Offered $250k then $350k. Kept insisting he be in it. They offered $35k if he was going to be in it. He accepted it and sold the rights to Rocky. He later tracked down the guy who bought his dog and bought it back for $10k. Side note... The Philadelphia Zoo is the 1st zoo in the country. One of many 1sts from Philadelphia.

Asia! You made me cry too lol - tbf this one always chokes me up, but I had to get my tissues too! I loved your reactions to this. I'm not a RL boxing lover, but the Rocky movies? I can watch them over and over. All it took, was one word from Adrian. WIN! She really is his motivation. 3 Is good too! Mr T is in it. My son drinks out of the milk jugs, drives me crazy. Its definitely a guy thing. You know, Carl and Sly didn't get on for years, during filming and after. You wouldn't think it, given their chemistry. Carl thought him not worthy for the role. He said: ''I blurted out 'I could do a lot better if you got me a real actor to work with,’ And Stallone thought Carl was being too greedy. (I don't want to give spoilers on why else) BUT? In 2016 Carl handed Sly an award, and said how they'd grown and how he respected Sly for where he's ended up now. Carl said: "He's a brilliant guy who I've been inspired by time and time again." Stallone posted a pic of the award and posted ''Given to me by Apollo Creed himself!'' As you get older? You definitely get wiser! I gotta say, it’s frustrating to me that the only version they have of this movie on all streaming services has the audio screwed up, with the entire movie being pitched down lower than it was originally, so all the characters sound super deep and weird, and the music is off. I know nobody probably notices unless they’ve seen the movie as many times as me, but still it bothers me that people aren’t getting the best copy for their first experience lol. Still loved the reaction anyways and super glad you both enjoyed it so much! On to Rocky III soon, hopefully.

Very well done as a sequel. The tense and somber moments as Rocky suffers worrying about Adrian leading up to the moment Adrian wakes up and tells Rocky to come closer to tell him "Win" and then the sudden music of a bell ringing is a classic moment. Stallone wanted a better flourish of fight moments as it looked hopeless for Rocky leading to the ending and Stallone had a legendary fighter Roberto Duran train with him leading to rave reviews. Coincidentally Stallone in the movie you see Rocky sparring in the ring with the Great Fighter.

Rocky was having trouble getting his head in the training because he didn’t have Adrian’s support, but then when she woke up told him to win, he could put everything in his training because he knew Adrian was supporting him and the baby was healthy. BTW: the baby really is Sylvester Stallone’s son. Perfect timing for him to be born so he can appear in his dad’s movie

Definitely finish the Rocky franchise because they are great, however if you ever have a chance, check out the movie cinderella man with russle crowe, it is inspired by true events and of course the popularity of this franchise. Its a period piece but Great in its own right. When it first came out, I would thrown off by the name, but you will see he is called that once you see the movie. Great reaction!

Also, the lack of guarding is done on purpose because Stallone wanted the entire fight to be exciting, he really did take the blows as well as carol weathers. Later in the franchise he was almost killed and sent to the hospital when fighting against one fighter in my personal favorite of the series. Hope you keep going.

I can’t even say much because you both said it all! I think that this movie and the first Rocky have been your best reactions. Every single thing you felt, said and did during this film is exactly how everyone reacts to the Rocky movies. I remember seeing this in the movie theatre and so many people were cheering. It was so great! Rocky, the man with a heart of gold.

Great stuff Shell. They both endured during the rigorous schedule of filming these movies not just the acting portion but the physical boxing work. They became close friends. There low was when Carl had problems with the wise ass Dolph later on that had Carl walk off. But Sly and Carl in time came back together.

Million Dollar Baby for me was going so well then it takes a dark turn that turned this film into a brutal Story. Even more difficult is the female boxer who plays the nemesis who cripples her, in true life for years was untouchable and many thought she was a man! Many did not want to challenge this fighter. Later in this person's career fought a male fighter and got stopped. Question is did Clint not know the controversy of this fighter back then. This fighter was pummelling women fighters then and it's troubling to add this fighter to this brutal storyline. Man or Woman this fighter was throwing red flags.

Fun fact: That little "Manny Pacquiao" guy that Rocky was sparring was boxing champ Robert Duran, before he was a real-life legend.

Duran at that point was considered the greatest lightweight ever. By the time he started moving up weight divisions he was set to retire in 78. Duran was 1970s Decade Champion. Ali 1960s Decade Champion.

Respectfully, Rio? I'm going to disagree and agree with Pink Martini. We all watched these franchise movies as well, to judge if we like them or not, I think that's how it should be for Asia and BJ. Let them decide if they like them or not. I say that with any movie franchise, any movie, or series, whether I like it or not. Rocky 4 is definitely a must. Some actually like Rocky Balboa. And the Creed movies are so good! Hope you're well :)

So fun fact but I’m not sure if it’s true or not. Supposedly the dog in the movies was Sylvester Stallone’s dog and before Rocky made it big he sold the dog for $25. After the success of Rocky, he bought the dog back for $15,000. One other thing, worth mentioning, unlike most movies series, the Rocky franchise only gets better with each sequel. I hope you stay with it until the end. 👍🏻
