Michael Lynch

Oh hell yeah! Classic from when I was a teen

Sapporo Dragon

Classic! I can’t believe you waited this long to watch it. I know I said this before, but I’ll say it again, you absolutely positively have to watch the Green Book before the end of the month.📗❤️

T’michelle

All the movies on that list are awesome! I hope eventually we get to watch all of them at some point down the line thanks for the upload 🙌🏼 whoop 🙌🏼 whoop

Rebecca Karsner

Yes!! Can't wait to watch later!! John Singleton (RIP) made some great films!! I also love Four Brothers and Poetic Justice!! Thanks for the upload and again can't wait to dive in later!! 😁🙌🙏

Renee S

Two good reactions to get to tonight :) I'll have to start my evening a little early, lol

Angelfish Luva

You guys get an A+ for the 'watch along" format. Not having to sync up videos is such a bonus!!

EJ

Oh yea It’s Lit!!

Thomas Laisney

Y'all should react to "Get Hard" with Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell!

N M

I’m surprised this was not yet seen, but I would say DO THE RIGHT THING, a Spike Lee Film, is an even bigger “must see” because of its importance in American culture.

Rio Mendoza

Awesome timing thank you guys I have time to watch right now.

George Bakis

John Singleton imo if he lived would have run the table of success as a director. Also Spikes Do the Right Thing is a good watch.

Karl Kraus

John singleton became the first black man in Oscar history to be nominated for best director, not to mention the youngest he was in his mid 20s He wove quite a tale, based on a sad but true existence down in South Central LA I'll be watching this as part of a double feature with your reaction to Glory later this week

Rio Mendoza

I have to say that I have watched so many reactions and heard your intro so many times. It is as epic to me as any intro to anything I've heard. I'm talking about the YouTube startup sound, The PlayStation sound, the windows start up sound, Mac OS sound when I hit that play button and I hear your intro. It's just as epic to me as hearing the same sound as any of those. How crazy is that Great job guys. You are a permanent fixture in my life and definitely have affected me in a positive way.

Andre Anderson

Menace 2 Society is another hood classic that you guys should check out

ZoeLo

Ricky’s mom was always calling him sweetheart and encouraged him. She referred to her other son as fat fucker and piece of shit. She would smack him but not Ricky. She treated them so differently. I don’t know if she loved both of her sons but she didn’t act like it. I can’t imagine my brother being murdered and my mom telling me it’s my fault. That’s why at the end he said he lost his brother and his mother. So heartbreaking. Amazing acting from all of them. Take care of yourselves. I hope you feel better soon.

Matthew Beilewech

I've been wanting to see this. I've heard it's a classic. Glad to finally have good reason to watch it

Kyndu

Nice choice. May I suggest "Menace 2 Society".

Michele G

I had never seen this before. Wow this was such a good movie. It definitely lived up to its reputation. Because I’m watching this on my phone ‘, I couldn’t see Ricky’s test score. Did he pass ? This cast was stellar !! Lawrence Fishburn is so dang sexy ! Holy cow. I loved his character, those were my favorite scenes. He was such a good dad ! He saved his son’s life ♥️ wow this was good ! Thanks yall !

Darth Brooks

I was a youngin when this came out and I was allowed to watch it. The Ricky scene was traumatic at that age and is still hard to get passed 33 years later. Such a classic film about life in South Central that truly holds up to this day. John Singleton was a fantastic director and this movie shows it. Great cast, tragic story, amazing piece of film history. Can't wait to watch ya'lls reaction when I get home, I hope A&B and all my fam in the comments enjoy and had a great evening✌❤ fam!

Jah (jakwiq) (Jah Quick)

This was the first west coast mainstream movie abt the hood. I saw this in a packed theatre. When Ricky died, it hit real hard back then. Good reaction and post movie analysis. Yall should also check out Menace 2 Society and Dead Presidents from the Hughes Brothers

Gavin Reid

A classic. Ice Cube's break out role.

Robert

My good friend/next door neighbor growing up for a few years was the crying baby of the football player. That was actually his dad IRL!

vceisdead

Man I havent seen this in a long time. Ice Cube killed it. Tre was good too. Lol if you thought this movie was hardcore... check out Menace 2 Society

vceisdead

What?? He did Four Brothers? I used to love that movie as a kid

MoFaster 9776

Wasn't this Cubes first role? Love it!! Gonna watch it now!!

Rio Mendoza

Some crazy trivia about this film was the guy who pulled the trigger that killed Ricky was later sent to prison for life for murdering two people and then was murdered by his cellmate during a satanic ritual. Super crazy. The 90s were crazy time. I was 11 when this film came out and growing up in Detroit. The hood was crazy. I have a million stories I could tell. I'm glad I don't live there anymore. Thanks for the upload guys. I enjoyed it a lot. It is one of my all-time favorite films

Kangdarius

Imma be honest. It’s hard to believe, not one, but two black folks haven’t seen this movie lol.

Stan Ross

Can’t believe you’ve never seen this!!!! This movie has been recycled in the collection since I was 9-10 years old the day it came out!!! Good watch

Andreas

OH ASIA, you never saw this shame you: :-) after that you schould see hip hop hood, is the comedy version from this movie.By the wayans brothers, the guys from scary movie. Love from germany. Fan fact, the shooting with the Uzi on the crenshaw. No actor knows that this happens, it was John Singleton who shoot in the air. The panic was also real and ice cube´s reaction to get out there was real. He almost hit an other actor with his car.

Dan Gonya

This is an absolute classic movie especially depicting early 90s Englewood and Compton culture. But now that you've seen this, you absolutely have to watch Don't be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood. Wayans bros classic parody! 😂

Amber Yousef

Remember watching this as a kid and loving it then. Still do now.

Dan Gershgol

Had not seen this either. Great story.

Em Gomez

In his all too brief time here in this world John Singleton gave us some amazing films. Poetic Justice, Higher Learning, Shaft,Rosewood, Baby Boy and of course Boyz N the Hood. My fav has always been Poetic Justice but BNTH is a classic. Thank you John Singleton for what you gave to us all. Great stories that meant so much. Rest In Power.

Michele G

I noticed the dead body line., but I didn’t know it had other references. Thanks for the link.

Rich

Great film. Haven't seen this since I was a teenager. Thanks, guys. Ice Cube doesn't age, he looks the same in all his films.

SavageDiplomat

Im pretty sure BJ has seen it before. If you watch the beginning there are some tell tell signs even though he doesn't outright admit to seeing it.

Daniel

I love this movie so much. Hoping you guys watch Straight Outta Compton soon!! Menace to Society would be great too!

B Humps

Really hoping that yall end up watching Don't Be A Menace To South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood. 🤣

Charles

John Singleton was 23 years old when he wrote and directed this film. Mind blowing.

Leslie

No hate at all but I do find it interesting that Asia cried more in this film than she did at the end of Million Dollar Baby.

Nick C.

What happened to this video? I just now went to watch it and got a "video doesn't exist".
