I absolutely love this film! Thank you guys so much for uploading it. It hits hard and has a tough message, but I think it is right in time with what we go through at schools and universities till this day sadly.

Darth Brooks

2026-09-05 06:00 If you had the mooola $$ for the Ultimate VIP, what video would you get the fabulous Asia and BJ to watch, and why? Me, I would choose "Tusk" a great (I think possibly horror film) that is CRAZY. Why? Because I think more people need to see this utter weirdness of this film, like wft was Johnny Depp doing in it? And because seeing Asia and BJ's reactions would be absolute gold, AMAZING.

I'll give credit to John Singleton for his ambitious plot points. It's never boring.

Rebecca Karsner

It's movie night!! 🎵🎵 😁 It's been awhile since I've seen this! I love this movie!! Such a great cast too!! Another John Singleton banger!! About to go watch now!! 😁 Hope you guys had a great weekend!! 🙌

Rebecca Karsner

That's a wild choice!! Lol That movie may have traumatized me!! Lol but it's Kevin Smith so I still rock with it! 😁

Darth Brooks

Tusk and Red State are a departure from Kevs typical work and I love them both. Tusk was a weed fueled fever dream when he wrote it. I loved hearing him talk about it in stages on his podcasts as he got further into the script. Also if I had the cash I'd request Man of Steel for them to watch it's my favorite iteration of Superman.

Rebecca Karsner

I love Red State more than Tusk!! But do like them both!! Yea I know! 😭 Man of Steel is a great superhero film!

Mami's Gatos

Yaay! I recommended this one. It's a classic. Everyone is on this one!

Joe Lazarus

I would've loved to have seen Tupac in Omar Epps' role

Pink Martini AZ

Didn’t care for this one much so I’ll pass. Hope everyone else enjoys.

Great question Lea. Movie: Fatal Attraction because it’s a fantastic flick and if I could pick a new Series: Squid Game.

Rio Mendoza

Awe such a pretty profile picture.

Watching this 30 years later makes me feel sad that the Ice Cube mentality was the one that spread to the next generation, rather than the Laurence Fishburn one.

Rio Mendoza

It's definitely a tough watch so many different emotions and what makes it even more weird as you start to feel bad for the bad guy lol it's definitely a roller coaster of a film and definitely not everyone's taste.

George Bakis

BJ on point. Who walks out on Al Green he can never be too loud. He's not Megadeth.

George Bakis

John Singleton selected some head turning girls. Very entertaining but if Singleton wrote this he was Oiled to the Gills! So the problems are White Aryans and White absorbed Alcoholics.

George Bakis

What do you sadly go through in school I Assume you mean back in the day. Who are WE?

George Bakis

A&B do I have a great movie that you will never forget. LEAVE HER TO HEAVEN. 1945 in beautiful TECHNICOLOR Gorgeous Gene Tierney meets an author on a train. Advice to all, get to know someone very well before you marry them. There are several shocking and unforgettable moments in this classic film. One of the best ever. Promise.

Lina Marshall

I still say Jack Ryan : Tom Climsay it’s

A serious will make you talk to your tv …

Syl

What show will you guys watch next?

Shenita

You guys need to see American History X Edward Norton Primal Fear Edward Norton True Romance Christian Slater All Very Good 😊

Shenita

Fantastic Movie 😄

Stan Ross

Felt different as an adult watching this …. Being so young and not understanding the plot when it came out…. I guess I didn’t learn or unlearn anything at first … I got it this time

James Forrest

Every one of them a superb flick. Great choices.

George Bakis

You are so right. Good to hear from someone else.

I hope we all had our version of "that one teacher". It was three decades ago, but I'll never forget a teacher who turned on so many lights for me and challenged me with new perspectives. I still remember them with admiration and appreciation. Funny thing is the lessons were life lessons and not so much textbook lessons.

Darth Brooks

Finally got around to the reaction and I'll say two things. 1. The movie is timeless and the reaction was great. 2. Whatever Asia is on I would like some 😂

DDB

I was 5 when I saw this movie and didn't quite grasp the concept. But now it paints a picture. Asia were you okay I couldn't tell if you were bored from the film or jus sleepy

Dan Gershgol

American History X should be on the list.

Karim

Excellent Singleton classic! Try Black Klansman, based off a true story.

Pink Martini AZ

I have not seen neither Tusk or Red State. I’ve never heard of these. How odd because I thought I pretty much knew all his films.

Pink Martini AZ

I have not seen this one. Sounds intriguing.

Pink Martini AZ

My dad and I love Primal Fear. That ending always blows us away.

Dan Gonya

Omar Epps doesn't age!!! This movie was made almost 30 years ago and he looks like he did it a week ago! Anyway, I love both Laurence Fishburne and Ice Cube in this movie. Unfortunately I think Michael Rappaport was written a little two dimensionally, but he did well with what he had. I find it odd that Jennifer Connelly was top billed.

Honestly41

Good question have you seen euphoria?

Honestly41

Tupac was actually supposed to play Jody in baby boy

Andreas

It don't matter if you're black or white (Michael Jackson). I wish the hole fucking world would be blind for colour or religion. Thx for the reaction and love from germany.

KingMoor

I study John Singleton film, by far my favorite director/writer. More projects by him that I think you’ll love: > Boys N The Hood [1991] - Director/Writer > Poetic Justice [1993] - Director/Writer/Producer > Rosewood [1997] - Director > Shaft [2000] - Director/Writer/Producer > Baby Boy [2001] - Director/Writer/Producer > 2 Fast 2 Furious [2003] - Director > Four Brothers [2005] - Director/Writer > Abduction [2011] - Director > Woo [1998] - Executive Producer > Hustle & Flow [2005] - Producer TV Shows: > Rebel [2017] - Executive Producer > Snowfall [2017-2023] - Executive Producer + Fun Fact: John Singleton directed Michael Jackson’s Remember the Time video.

Kangdarius

Asia must really be the black popcorn in bed. Idk how she hasn’t seen these movies lol. I saw this before I was even a teenager I think. Still kinda crazy and sad how this stuff still goes on today. Whether it be racial or the school shooting. Sucks man

Josh

American History X Next!

Neon_ninja

yeah, this film is great, but I also classify this is 'American History X' lite. I think even if you were able to have asked Singleton, I believe he would have been willing to remake this film in a current context, and he would have had more freedom to drive home his point. But after his passing, now I hope they just leave his films be.

Rashad Walker

Asia looks sleepy 😴 🥱 😅

Ry Cannon

The message is not to be blind to color or religion its to shine light on social injustices in America to be blind means to ignore it exists
