It's OVER HERE!If you’re having trouble opening the latest update, scroll to the bottom of the page in the link for more info!----While scrolling through Chapter 15, I realized it’s pretty much entirely dedicated to Tera! That definitely led to some especially fun and challenging scenes for me to draw, haha. I also really wanted to reconnect with his brutal side, his “Black Death” nature. After the scene where the Rabbit reminds him of his youth, it felt interesting to show how deeply that’s rooted in him now.

And I’m really happy with this update! Last month I was a little frustrated with it and worried I might mess this one up, but I actually think these action scenes turned out great, what do you think? (Also thank you for being so supportive, I just love yall so much, MUUUUAH <3)There are tons of cross-hatchings in my comic, especially during fight scenes, because they really push the dynamism and harshness. Just imagine every single one of those lines was drawn by hand, lol.

I hope you enjoyed it! I promise the Boy will be back soon, haha! As I mentioned in the last post, I’ll be doing a breakdown of the thought process that went into these pages, for those who are interested!Thank you for reading my comics and caring for my characters and just being there <3

Thank you for the update !!! Your drawing is sooo good 🔥

Chiro

Oh my god I ate this one up🥹 when Tera twists the guy’s arm on page threee AHHHH. I feel stupid, I can’t explain how good it was looool Also yesss would love to see a breakdown from you 💕

The Movie Buff

As much as I love the action so far I just wanna see the boy and Tera together alone again

Elanor

Hi!!! Will we see Tera cry in the future? Don't know why, but i can't figure Tera cry. Anyway, i love see Tera fighting, and these pages are fantastic! But now Tera is without his motorcycle right?

evi

First thought: This IS his turf. For now. But the times they are a’changing, aren’t they? 2nd: I’d never expected Tera to drive a Citroen. It will certainly do as a ram - but don’t we imagine him in a build more fitting to his… build? Understatement of the month... I like how you condense this scene to its essence - all is told that needs telling, almost mechanical - reflecting the mode he’s in just now? And I just love the 4th page - you show them turning without showing that movement itself, but rather with the bullets’ two perspectives… You’re amazing! But Tera, now run to another one of those de-stress sessions you’ve come to cherish. And you guys here have a great Sunday!

Rima

I knew Tera was not a good guy, saw him watch a man burn without blinking. But I still find it fascinating(idk if that's the right word), to actually see him actively participate in killing. Ik we saw him set fire to a building before, and killing the florist guy and we saw him kill Muta and his guys, but it's different to now, where we see him use a knife. Idk why, but I think that knife murders are always more brutal and cruel than gun murders, (both are horrible ofc), and that it take a whole different kind of ruthlessness to kill w a knife (bc you actually have to push through skin and veins with your own hands and you feel them tear apart beneath the blade) and somehow this actually made me see Tera more as an actual killer gang member than just a gang member that deals w theft & tracking with some occasional killings. A great update as always, but I can't wait for him and the Boy (and Joris) to get together again 🥹 Thank you for your amazing work! 🫶🏻 and I also wanted to ask if you have any other projects after you're done with The Boy and the Wolf? Like another comic, I mean 👀

Joanne

He's doing more and more bad stuff while trying to do good stuff 😭

Joanne

I think he stole that car, that's why he's clicking the key to find it. He pulls them out of dead shield-guy's pocket :)

zpico

@Joanne yes haha!! I hope it’s clear enough! 😁

zpico

Fun fact i mixed 2 different models for the exterior of the car and used another one for the interior haha

That first panel… the light/dark contrast is insane and immediately setting “the tone”. It has never been a good thing to see those wolf’s eyes “glow”. Sure thing that shooting didn’t go unnoticed… sure thing they bring in the big guns. Sure thing, that scene made me gasp and caught my breath. Just like the Boy’s uncle with a rifle, this is a real threat to Tera, much more so than a guy with a small cutter. If their places would have been switched in that situation (first panel on pg.2), if it would have been Tera entering that hallway from behind the target, I bet there would have been no talk. Just a deafening "BAM" echoing in that hallway, getting the job done. Good thing they still kinda hesitate to outright kill a Black Death in a situation like this, and thinking in terms of “your turf/our turf”. I imagine, if it wouldn’t have been for Tera’s and Black Death’s street credit and reputation, the situation even might have been different, for that split second that counts. No talk. Just pulling the trigger. Tera on the other hand obviously doesn’t have such restrictions… he really knows what he’s doing, even in unpredicted situations. He acts fast, efficient, without hesitation and utterly ruthless. Everything you need to do, to be one step ahead… and stay alive. I know I am repeating myself, but I can’t help to like even that aspect about him. It adds pieces to the puzzle of “Tera” and I am glad you again chose to show him like that! It is part of his personality and he’s actually pretty good at it. It still doesn’t make him a “bad person” (to me) – just someone being capable of doing very bad things – which are just normal in the dog-eats-dog world he lives in, for years now! A fearsome monster, capable of killing in hot rage and hands on (Muta at the gas station) as much as calculated, cold blooded (burning down the bank clerk on the rooftop, Muta and his gang in the parking garage or Tony in his shop, and even now in that club). If you leave that safe place of a “normal life” and step into those shadows (signing contracts with Black Death for example) – there is no pardon. Only consequences. Love that update and it looks (and feels) so so damn good! 🖤 PS: I keep on wondering... what will happen if ever footage of those crime scenes (like the parking garage or this club) finds it's way to the news (in print and on screen) and the Boy is actually paying attention to it. His uncle has warned him more than once about Black Death, their doing and the streets not being safe because of them. Seeing that familiar mask on the news, listening to the reports... I fear for his heart. For the both of them.

júlia 🇧🇷

I confess I like the cliché of the "untouchable" gangster. Seeing Tera do so well in a fight with ten guys gives me a sense of security. The Boy is DEFINITELY the most protected person in this Paris.

júlia 🇧🇷

Thank God that Tera doesn't retaliate to the beatings the boy gives him. 🙌🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✨️

Julie

❤️❤️❤️❤️

júlia 🇧🇷

It would be truly surprising. I also don't imagine him crying; it's so different from what we've seen of the character. Maybe it will change when he starts opening up more to the boy, like the boy did and cried when talking about his traumas. Or when the boy discovers the lies and runs away from him. ✨️👍🏻

zpico

Haha, interesting question! I’ve wondered how I’d handle it if it ever happened; I think we’ve all been surrounded by father figures or male figures we’ve never seen cry..! That’s the real challenge! There are several ways to deal with those emotions, and I’ve decided to just trust myself haha!

Elanor

Exactly!! I thought the same!Tera crying and screaming "Sorry" at the boy..my heart will broke for sure.

Elanor

I cried when the boy did. But if Tera cry...It hurts in a differet way..

Klasikatica

😬 I was worried Tera was going to get shot. Like no no no no no... Whew 😥

Caroline Borlée

Tera is so cool, so hot 🫠❤️ I need a Tera at home (not as an enemy for sure 🫣)

LadyKya

Pauvre voiture... Le Loup va aller voir son infirmier pour se faire soigner? Les scène d'action sont très impressionnantes!! Et vraiment superbes!

Fuck I sincerely feel sorry for those dudes he kills it looks like something really terrible pico This is amazing You just amazingly conveyed the horrors of this criminal world in which Terra is located

evi

Oh well - obvious indeed. Even more so considering that Tera did not change into white chinos just to get his car key out… 🫣 But a Citroën, really? I do like your attention to those details however!

Michael

Wow, the dude on the last page really got the Leonel Salamanca treatmen. Otherwise I actually like this chapter pretty much because it shows the life Tera truly lives. He may be lovely when he is with the boy (and half of us expect them to make out sooner rather than later), but he is still a member of Black Death, a violent gang that robs, kills and burns for a living.

Michael

Remember the phone he got from Tera? It was taken from a man he just killed. The boy may be naive and sometimes outright innocence in a physical form but he is not as clueless as one might guess. He goes to a therapist for his nightmares, he knows he is suffering He knows that his Grandmother is closer to death than life and will be gone rather soon. He knows he will be all alone in this world after his parents were murdered by Black Death (not such a good starting condition Tera) and the only person tethering him to the world may be alive not for long. He propably has some feelings for Tera, maybe romantic, but he will cling to him, a mental ancor for the boy to not loose himself and fear and dispair. If he is confronted with the true nature of Tera, especially regarding the death of his parents and Tera's involvement in said deaths, he might actually break. He might resent Tera, thinking he planed this to torture him. He will either push him away or even worse, decide to get revenge. Another option is that he becomes a simple hull, a man alive but not living. It might actually break Tera in the long run because seing someone turn into a hollow shell with nothing in them is frightening, but knowing that you are the cause is downright the stuff for emotional nightmares. Either way: this can and will not end well the second Tera's involvement with the murder of the boy's parent gets out. The other stuff might actually get a "pass" if he truely quits and repents. But the second the big secret is out, everything other than madness is off the table.

Artiø Vollrath

It's funny because I always read the chapter first, then your description. I noticed the cross hatching and stippling used to create shading for the glasses the guy is wearing and thought it was a really cool concept!

yahboyysam

tera don't fuck around.

Elanor

Think the same(but too long to write in english).

Tera crying… now that’s interesting! Why do people cry… there are many reasons. Despair. Pain. Happiness. Joy. Relieve. Grief. Regret. Just to name a few. As far as I get it, Tera has strong trigger points and he doesn’t stop at murder for a troubleshooter. He also doesn’t stop at self-harm if there is no other outlet for his emotions (anger, or rather: a raging mix of emotions, after listening to the Boy and learning about how he became an orphan). I don’t know what exactly happened back then when the Boy’s parents died, and what hand Tera personally had in all of this… but seeing what’s currently going on with Laurent and listening to Kain’s little speech on that rooftop while they watched Tony’s store go down in flames (and probably Tony and a good part of the building with it, too - Chapter 10, post 31th Dec. 2022) I think whatever it was… Tera is actually flexible enough to consider different viewpoints. He already distanced himself from Black Death (not including himself while speaking about “them”, not “we”), even before he learned about the Boy’s story. He was bored by all this routine, probably always has been, since he was the “lone wolf” of the pack. That’s how he crashed Jo’s abduction attempt, literally. He was on a solo run. Simple felony burglary – not what Black Death usually does (e.g., their loan-business or drug trafficking or armed robbery with hostages). Yeah, I know it’s long winded, but bear with me. My point is… I can picture Tera crying – after all he is a young man with a tremendous amount of weight to shoulder and when it comes down to it, he is an emotional “type”. His anger is just as raw as his consideration, thoughtfulness and restraint. The things that make him snap are the same things that keep him from doing so… He snapped when Muta threatened to kill/harm the Boy. In that exact same situation, it was the Boy who was able to stop Tera. Two sides of the same coin. So, when it comes to crying… I think it might be a situation where he is alone (just the reader could be witness, like in Capter 12, pg. 7, bottom panel...) and where it’s probably out of despair (like the meltdown in the secure environment of his own four walls – after sitting watch in the Boys room. He kept it all in this whole time until he finally got home). You know, that kind of feeling which makes it impossible to breathe freely… a despair that is even topping the red -hot boiling rage and eating you alive. Maybe about something that can’t be undone… Tera might be some kind of male stereotype, your “usual tinder date” and outlaw (to put it mildly) but at the same time… he is pretty flexible and open-minded. While even Jo has a strong opinion about the Boy (and his sense of fashion), Tera has no problem admitting to liking it, without pretending not to. He does care a lot and is a very considerate observer when it comes to the Boy’s… capers. That kid was able to draw blood from a Black Death and come out of it unharmed. It’s expected of Anna to be a generous calm influence for the Boy (a good part of his wardrobe is sponsored by her old clothing it seems, and she doesn’t mind him, wearing that (awesome) hat. His uncle is the scolding one). Tera seems to be perfectly fine with the Boy’s personality and he’s even very persistent to get to know him even better – and become a part of his life. He does care… a lot. That’s why I can imagine Tera shedding a tear… given certain circumstances, even though it might take a lot. Tera seems to be a person of extremes. He has gone much farther than most “normal” people ever could – and I think it’s all rooted in his youth and the circumstances that ultimately led to his “downfall”. He had a reason for that first time killing (killing his greatest fear)… way before he met Luc. It’s personal and emotional. Just like the Boy has “his” nightmares - the beggar, the father, the sleeper and the nameless – Tera has his own trigger points which manifest in a different way… but are just as strong and haunting. Abuse, protection and “innocence” have a huge part in this. Regret and Despair might bring him to his knees and when rage and self-harm (fists to a wall) won’t do anymore, when it becomes unbearable, there might be only tears left. The way Tera was reaching for the Boy while opening that door to the room with the safe at Starcups… there is something even he needs, something Tera has been working hard for… something that might be unbearable to lose. The Boy’s trust and good-natured sympathy. Tera was so drawn to the fact, that the Boy doesn’t fear him, even if he tried his best with his intimidating entrances. The Boy always stood his ground. (It's almost like the Boy's conversation/session with Lee is also a mirror to what Tera "needs"/yearns for... not being judged, someone not running off scared shitless). Apparently… the Boy is currently the only good thing in his life it seems, at least some honest innocence, already somehow tainted by Tera’s past, without the Boy being aware. There might be tears involved at some point, when nothing else is left.

Elanor

I think that if Tera Will crying, It will be when the boy discover the truth. I think that the uncle'studio in his hause Is full of black death referiment and the death of the boy'parents, and at some point he will open that door. I can Imagine Tera crying and screaming a disperate "Sorry" at the boy. A "Sorry" from the bottom of his heart. He can do nothing to "fix" the fact that his family is death because of black death. The boy can only accept this and forgive him. But it will hurt as hell.

Mellowcat

Apologies in advance, this is taking up a lot of space, again. No matter how I slice it… I can’t picture the Boy partaking in “revenge”. I agree with you, the Boy does know a lot – but he chose to handle it “his way”. That also includes him actively attacking Tera and being outright hostile, when Tera appears as a threat. Just some “big bully” bulging his way into the Boy’s life. The Boy wasn’t impressed with Tera at all nor did he “fall for him” easily, even though Tera did help him escape from Muta (first time around, when the Boy accidentally shot Tom with Tera’s gun), or lead the Boy out of the park or get him “his” phone back. It took a lot of time and persistence on Tera’s part. The Boy was ready to rat him out to the police (Bob… I don’t trust Bob!) but even though he had more than a chance to talk to his uncle about that masked “Black Desk Raccoon”… that guy from the bank robbery… he eventually chose not to. Because of Jo and his brother and his own past, with his brother. Yet the Boy knows about Black Death being his uncles target (him calling them terrorists), he knows Tera shows up wounded and with blood splattered all over which isn’t necessarily his blood, he knows Tera is partaking in armed robbery (more than once), he knows the building he lived in as a kid burned down… he saw the news, where another building burned down and it is reported Black Death allegedly having a hand in this. He knows. Despite everything, he is trusting Tera with things he ever only talked to Lee about. He allows him to stay nearby when he is falling asleep, he is actively listening to him, e.g. regarding those sleeping pills, he is asking for Tera’s opinion, asking him how to conquer fear - and in the end - he does care actively about Tera’s wellbeing (more than just not getting shot during a bank robbery). He even told his grandma about Tera,… kind of (“worried for someone”). The Boy is drawn to him and that has nothing to do with Tera being a criminal. They had a moment where they talked to each other about each other… the puzzle scene. The Boy took a piece and linked it to Tera… and his past and what made him the way he is, his life is now. Sure, the Boy can’t put a finger on it and doesn’t know exact details about Tera’s past – but he acknowledged that there is something rooted there. One main point for the Boy regarding Tera (in my opinion) is “I didn’t feel judged. He just listened”. That is something major to the Boy and very important to him. It’s a huge part of him and I think in some way a core-value of the Boy. He doesn’t want to feel judged – and hence he is very aware of others in a “similar” situation – like Jo, cleaning up his mother’s mess while the Boy is there. The Boy didn’t judge. He just did lend Jo a helping hand, because he could relate. I’m sure he wouldn’t let Tera down easily. I don’t believe that Tera is playing him (not at all, I rather think Tera is painfully genuine with everything he does) so their relationship might have a solid foundation, trust and being comfortable in each other’s presence (I know, this is highly debatable, but I simply don’t feel/think/see that Tera is outright lying to the Boy). Tera can’t change what happened in the past. What’s done is done, there is no turning back. But they can find a way to live with it, and I think they can and will try to do this with each other in their lives. I don’t consider it “toxic”. The Boy isn’t even asking Tera to stop… he could have asked for that, when Tera robbed the Starcups, even without knowing it’s for a so called “good cause”, since Tera meant to try and buy-out Laurent (and his family). That wasn’t even a factor to the Boy and his reactions to Tera showing up there for another robbery. If that (they) will work out is something else altogether, I also agree with that. But I so, so, so wish them well and I desperately want them to have just a little more time together and be there for each other, until – ultimately – it all will come down on them hard and catch up with them. The more they get invested… the more it will hurt. Feelings are complex, relationships are… and I am very happy that this isn’t told like a fairytale, but with a lot of hurt along the ride, which is realistic, given the setting for them. That grain of salt, which makes it all so relatable.

Elanor

Dude, you write A LOT, but i agree with you

Lumen

This is what I'm worried about. Tera has a gentle side, but he is a murderer and a violent criminal. His actions will have consequences, and I hope the boy won't ultimately break when he discovers who and what Tera really is. Tera can change and take a new path, but he will always have to live with the shadows of his actions and the resulting consequences. I fear this story didn't end well T_T But I hope so!

Mellowcat

Tera seems almost driven and desperate in his attempt to gather the money in time... Sure, he's good at what he's doing, but he's starting fires everywhere... The Boy's Uncle already aimed well enough with that rifle to make it a close call for Tera and this is another situation where it almost went awry for him. Being on bad terms with Kain isn't exactly helping, nor Luc keeping a close eye on Tera and leveling subtle threats Tera's way... such as "good boy Marco", who ended up as a human popsicle, because he thought he could call it quits on his bussiness with Black Death...
