Dressing The Boy (Patreon)

I’m in my retro era, and it’s definitely influencing how I dress the Boy haha! It's very US high school lolIt’s always been that way anyway, my characters influence me and I influence them right back hahaha-

For a while now I’ve really wanted to take inspiration from cheerleader outfits, I’m still kind of obsessed with the idea, but I’m realizing it’s actually pretty tricky to adapt that look for him. So nothing official yet, I haven’t found a design that truly clicks :(

Dressing these characters is always a bit of a challenge, especially for the Boy, because shapes and volume completely rebalance his silhouette... It’s way too easy to make him look "compressed" and smaller with something like an oversized sweater, for example. His last outfit, the one in Chapter 16, works really well in that sense imo. I love the shape it gives him, and he’s been so fun to draw in it. That’s why I’ve been trying to keep that balance here… unfortunately I can’t just keep the sweatpants forever, grrr!!!!

Another thing is that everything can look different once it’s inked. So there are still quite a few tests to run.
