Soundboard & Soundpad — v14.0.0 is out (FoundryVTT v13 & v14) (Patreon)
Content
Hi everyone,
A big maintenance release for the Soundboard & Soundpad module is now available. The whole module has been rebuilt on FoundryVTT's modern ApplicationV2 framework, which was necessary to keep it working on Foundry v13 and v14 — and along the way I fixed a good pile of bugs that had crept in.
New version numbering
Starting now, the module version follows the FoundryVTT major version it targets. This release is for Foundry v14, so it's 14.0.0 (the previous release was 1.3.0). Nothing else changes — it's just easier to tell at a glance which Foundry version a build is meant for.
Under the hood
Every window (Soundboard, the board editor, the rename dialog and the Soundpads panel) has been ported to ApplicationV2 / HandlebarsApplicationMixin.
Minimum supported version is now Foundry v13. Foundry v12 still remains supported on older version.
Soundpads fixes
Sounds now play on the first click. Previously the file was downloaded but the first click didn't actually start playback.
Hide / show works again. Right-clicking a sound — or a whole folder — to hide it was broken after an internal data change; it's back.
Hidden folder names are shown in red again, like hidden sounds.
Soundboard fixes
Multi-cell slots (1×2, 1×3, 2×2, 2×3, 3×2, 3×3) are laid out on a proper grid again — they no longer overlap or shove neighbouring slots around.
The sound that's currently playing is highlighted immediately, even on its very first play.
Assorted layout regressions from the ApplicationV2 move fixed: oversized title, the grid spilling past the board list, and outdated Foundry text labels.
How to update
Update Soundboard & Soundpad (by Moulinette) from Foundry's Add-on Modules tab as usual. If you manage modules manually, the manifest is:
As a reminder, the predefined boards and pads from Michael Ghelfi Studios and Tabletop Audio require an active subscription to those creators and to Moulinette.
Thanks 🙏
Thank you all for the continued support — it's what keeps Moulinette going. If you run into anything odd on v13 or v14, please report it on the Moulinette Discord so we can jump on it.
Happy gaming,
