Moulinette's mission is to facilitate searching and using assets in your games, whether from Moulinette Cloud or from locally-stored content. While it works very well for maps / scenes hosted on Moulinette Cloud, I never managed to make it easy to index local maps. Firstly because it is not easy to distinguish maps from other images (tokens, tiles, etc.). But also because maps tend to be pretty large and are slow to load.

I'm very proud to announce that the newest release of Moulinette lets you index your own maps!

It works exactly the same as for other assets (sounds, tiles, tokens) :

Configure your sources by add folders containing your maps (plain images)

Index your content

And voilà!

Moulinette automatically generates thumbnails for each map and index them such you can easily search and create scenes from them. The indexing process takes longer than for tiles. Open the console (F12) to track the progress.

Limitations

Only available for Foundry V10

Thumbnails not properly generated if the filename contains accents characters.

Groovy!! Looking forward to having it working for the Forge, as all my games are hosted there now. Will that also eventually support animated maps like .webm and .mp4 ? I'd also like to submit a feature request for later: the ability to export/import Moulinette soundboards. Since it takes a while to build one, it would be great to be able to share them between games, or being able to switch quickly between several soundboards. Thanks!

Yeah this looks great. When will it be available? Edit: nm I just uninstalled and re-installed.
