If you don't know the Soundscape module yet, I strongly recommend to check the Demonstration video of this amazing module from Chris (Material Foundry). Soundscape is a module that gives users an easy way to mix down multiple audio tracks into a single highly configurable soundscape.

In order to make it usable in combination with Moulinette, I've been working for the past few weeks on :

Compatibility with FoundryVTT V10

Support for The Forge

Drag & drop of sounds and images from Moulinette

Delete/reset channels

Play sounds to specific users only

In order to test this early release, you need to :

Update Moulinette modules (core, tiles and sounds)

Install Soundscape using the following Manifest URL : https://raw.githubusercontent.com/SvenWerlen/Soundscape/main/module.json.

If no issue is reported next week, I'll contribute it back to the original module such it will be easily available for everyone.

Special thanks to Aurel Tristen from HellScape Assets for the screenshots.

Any other module you'd like Moulinette to better integrate with?

It already does! :) MaterialDeck has long had support for SoundScape. Now that it's updated for V10, it just works out of the box.

Whoa cool! Legit soundboard! Big change from first iteration

Moulinette

It's not Moulinette Soundboard. It's the one from Soundscape module that I extended to support Moulinette.

Moulinette

Can you check that you have core v. 10.8.0, tiles 10.7.0 and sounds 10.7.0? If this is the case, can you check the console (F12) to see if you have any error.

Soundscape module is not compatible with Foundry v10. It seems puzzling to promote a module that is not actively being worked on and updated. This is particularly important given that Foundry v11 is in process. So before I try using this, can anyone attest to how well this is working in general (I recognize a lot of this depends on the other mods one has installed, but I tend to avoid anything that has not been verified for the most recent stable build.

Moulinette

Hi Robert, My post is exactly about the changes I did on Soundscape module to support V10, The Forge and drag & drops from Moulinette. A few people tested it in the most recent stable build

robert schaefer

I wish I could share a screen shot, but in my module setup (even after updating this module), is clearly shows that is not been verified past Foundry v9.0. Even so, I gave it a try and could not get the module to work (it would not play any tracks regardless of volume and settings). As fun as this looks in concept, the frustration is not worth it, and neither is the risk of module conflicts. I will stick with the built in soundboard.

Allmight

I tested it, and so far it works just fine, no issues in v10

Alexander Minges

For me, drag & drop does not work in case of sounds when using Firefox. I'm not able to rearrange the soundboard neither is it possible to drag & drop tokens on top of the individual entries. Both is possible when using Chromium-based browsers though.

Alexander Minges

You need to install the module using the URL posted above to install the V10 compatible fork.

Moulinette

Thank you for reporting this! I was able to reproduce and fix it in `v-2.1.4`. You can use the same Manifest URL to update.

Moulinette

Someone reported that drag & drop didn't work with Firefox and I found another issue when drop mode was not configured as "tile" (actor or article). I fixed both of them in v-2.1.4. You can use the same Manifest URL to update and it should fix it.

Can one call the sounds from the Soundboard using a hotkey? Looking to set up my Streamdeck

Moulinette

No this is not possible (yet). If I implement it as macro that you could assign to the macrobar, would that be useful? Or do you want to assign a hotkey specifically to one of the sound?

robert schaefer

I used the manifest install from the URL posted above. That installed v2.14. Then the bazaar on Forge let me know right away that there is an update to the module. This installed v1.03. Why would software updates decrease in version number?? Let me know if I am missing something.

Moulinette

Yes, I don't know why "The Forge" does that. I think it's because it defaults to the "official" one. I'm contributing the changes back to the official module to fix this.

robert schaefer

Thanks! I look forward to sending the update backwards to v2.14, and then ignoring the Forge's attempts to update the module. You will probably have this fixed from the sound of it, but its good to know what the cause of the problem is. It was too late for me to do this for last Friday's game night, but looking forward to the next campaign session in a couple weeks! Thank you.

This seems incredibly useful! Will you be continuing to add new features to soundscape? What I currently want to do is have tracks fade out when I stop playing them, rather than having them fade out at a predetermined time.

Moulinette

Did you create a feature request on Soundscape GitHub project? I implemented a few features and I'm planning to keep maintaining it. But I don't know if I can implement this one.
