I drew Copepod doodle a while ago.

It made me want to drawing more small crustaceans.

I think everyone who raises fish knows Artemia (Brine shrimp).

Or, as a pet, the sea monkey might be the most famous.

I didn't know until I was drawing, but there are over 300 different types of fairy shrimp.

Small crustaceans are very important food for many fish and birds🐟

Rough sketch

Sketch

In the picture, I did not draw a specific species, but I drew it with the impression of being female and male juveniles of fairy shrimp.

The reason for drawing the juvenile was that it would look too complicated if I drawing a female egg pouch. Also it can be fearful for people with phobia. When I have to draw eggs for this reason, I draw as few as possible.

For design reasons, their swimming legs are 11 pairs, but I omitted in 4 pairs.

Thank you!

I've never seen juvenile fairy shrimp! They look so prehistoric, like something from the Cambrian period 😮

Thank you so much Lauren!

I love the photos they look like shining in the dark. It is also very fun to draw a variety of copepods.

Ah! I thought so too. I also felt that their appearance was primitive. Some crustaceans, like Triopsidae, It's amazing that have barely changed their appearance from a very long time ago.

Yes, I love the feeling when small crustaceans look fluorescent in micro photos! I tried to express it.
