Watching Blizzard: Welcome to the weekend (Patreon)

We’ve managed to make it to yet another weekend, so congratulations, everyone. We’ve tanked (or damaged or healed) our way through another week without needing a rez. (Uh, I may need a rez. Maybe. Anyone?)

But enough about our weekly rl raid strategy: let’s move on to the news.

Oh. My. God.

• Amazon posted some preview pages from the upcoming Before the Storm novel… including the ending. It goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway: there are some serious story spoilers in our writeup of this preview. And they’re pretty mind-blowing.

On a lighter note…

• Sure, it’s a bug, but the water is currently missing on the Battle for Azeroth beta.

Hearthstone nerfs are coming on May 22

• We knew about the nerfs, and now we know when they’re coming (soon).
• And for the Hearthstone fans in the audience (you have to be one if you’re reading this sentence, right?), don’t forget that the HCT playoffs are happening this weekend. (Depending on when you read this, maybe right now!) And it’s interesting to see that most of the decks in play will be hit by this round of nerfs.

Rossi has been talking Diablo lore

• Last week he gave us a rundown on Imperius, the Archangel of Valor. This week, he digs into the long conflict between Imperius, who has vowed to stay out of Sanctuary’s affairs, and Tyrael, who has done nothing but meddle with them.

People seem to have strong feelings about the launcher

• When Mitch asked everyone how they would change the launcher, the majority of you were very clear about what you wanted: to get rid of non-Blizzard games. (For my part, I just wish it weren’t such a CPU hog.)
