Watching Blizzard: A new beginning (Patreon)

Ah, the day before the day. In the morning the WoW servers will go down and patch 8.0 will start rolling out. It's the end of a lot of things, but it's also a new beginning. Battle for Azeroth is just around the corner.

So let's take a look at the news.

Start your journey into Battle for Azeroth by reading the patch notes

• The patch notes! They're here and there's no avoiding them. Check them out for a final look at the class changes plus all the rest coming in 8.0.
• And for those of you dreading the burning of Teldrassil, we now know the pre-patch event doesn't start for another week, so you still have some time to hang out in Darnassus.

We're getting an all-new WoW animated series

• Warbringers will feature stories from Sylvanas, Jaina, and Azshara... and it's sure to be interesting.
• Also I'm pretty sure it's going to be totally badass.

Hammond remains our very favorite rodent

• And so we've put together a gallery of all of his skins and victory poses. So cute.

Azerite and the other strange minerals of Azeroth

• I didn't realize most of this, but Azerite is apparently not the first time the blood of a god has turned into some kind of Azerothian rock. Anne wrote a Know Your Lore about it and so now you and I can know these strange things, too.

And that's all for now. Onward, to tomorrow! This is Liz, signing out.
