My only gripe, which is minor, is the vines look so small! Unless they can retract and spool up inside the alligator's head.

im wondering about the weapon he has. both his hammer and axe are countered by a spike. What he has on the cover is something new.

Was the axe also counterbalanced by a spike? I know the hammer was, but I don't remember the description. Also I'm not sure but maybe this is a level 5 axe for after the delving tournament.

yeah it says it was countered by a spike about halfway through chapter 59. it would be cool if that was the weapon sadi makes him, but those are supposed to be rank five, so he wouldn't be using it in the delving tournament.

Can't wait, the 30th can't come fast enough though I will say atropos' helmet is pretty funny looking lol I would have imagined just a simple leather helm or something. Also I'm wondering if that axe/hammer combo is a reward from the mock war. It looks handy but then he doesn't have anything to punch into the crocodiles head.

Shane- Adding twelve-foot vines from the head would have been amazing, but there are some limitations to make it work as a cover. David- I let the artist make a weapon he was happy with that still worked for Ben.

You know what... that's absolutely fair, you wouldn't really want the cover to be dominated by vines. I wasn't even thinking about the cons of depicting them full sized.

David- it's roughly the same length as HC1. Amazons page counts aren't always accurate. HC2 is about 10k words shorter which is never 100 pages.

In the first book the axe he bought had a spike to balance it because it was mentioned that the spike wasn't quite sharp enough to puncture the sweet spot on the gators/crocodiles what ever they are lol

This exceeds all expectations I love HC. Can't wait for the next one. But happy for Al next all these books are just soooo good. I cant tell if I love HC more than AR or if they are equal anyone else having this problem?

This was an awesome book. Small question, how is mana calculated? I’m confused by the 8 point gap between Atropos and Ben. Is he behind by one base point in each component stat? Is it Cognition and Deftness?

I loved the book, but wonder if I'm misunderstanding something. In Chapter 29 Ben says, "I went with the blood pool for Blood Healing", but then in Chapter 46 he says, "If he had a Blood Pool to use...he would have needed Blood Healing as a core Soul skill." Did he or didn't he take the skill?

Ok so i don't think my calculations are wrong but they might be, but are we missing a snapped blood band? In the first book when ben gets his AI he had nine one each ankle thigh and forearm that's 6 and then one on hips and chest that's 8 plus the one that first snapped on his head that's 9. After reading the second book again I noticed After they reach rank 4 and Ben talks to cell he mentions that both ankle bands are snapped and he expects the forearms to be next but if that's the case then we are still missing a snapped band. Rank 1 was the head, from rank 1 to 2 it was an ankle and rank 2 to 3 was another ankle what band was snapped from rank 3 to 4?

Maybe during the fight he had already used what he had in the blood pool and at that point was saying if he had a larger blood pool? I see what you are saying though especially going back and reading it again.

Just finished heavenly chaos 1 and 2 last night and came straight over here to start book 3

No when they hit rank 4 he upgrade it to have blood pool so he had healing broken bones and blood pool unlocked

His head was strapped down at rank 1. So head at 2, ankles at 3 and 4. I'd have to pull up my notes but I'm pretty sure this is right.
