Yeah, Arthur was more the dragon Motifs because of his surname, Pendragon Merlin was more to do with nature and the Fey, considering their magic was rooted in Celtic mythos, which has a reverence for nature and the triple goddess.

Huh, I just read up on Merlin and apparently the oldest records of the story have him/her being born of a mortal woman and a demon incubus making him/her a cambion. Interesting considering demons are the big bads of this series. The earliest stories also associate him/her with Vortigan’s tower and the red and white dragon fighting as the cause for its continual collapse. Other stories speak of his/her ability to shapeshift and that he/she is the Red Dragon representing the Brittons and the White Dragon representing the saxons is the fairy Viviane (also known as The Lady of the Lake and the person who imprisons or kills him/her) Merlin’s story is extremely convoluted 😆

Haha, fair enough. I didn't know that. But it does make me wonder if Merlin in this series had a parent posessed by a Demon and that was how she got initiated? Actually was this covered in the first book? But when do people become initiated after the rapture? Is it from birth, or after they reach a certain age?

Shit, you’re right, that could explain Merlin being initiated so long ago. I think it was mentioned in the first book that the random rifts only started happening as the whole world got closer and closer to being initiated. Huh, that is an interesting question. I would guess active at birth but locked out until they are a teenager and understand what they are doing to an extent. This is what Sean Oswald did for the main character’s 6 year old daughter when the family got isekaied in his series Life in Exile and A New Home.

Is it bad idr who Helen is? So many characters from so many different books. It gets hard to keep track (not just talking about Bruce’s books). I’m set to hopefully finish my 230th book this year. (Excluding reading this since it won’t finish before the year ends)
