Hey everyone,

Things are going well. SSV4 was a bit of a monster, I think it’s the second largest book I’ve written and I haven’t written one this long since I started doing monthly releases, so it feels good to have really hit the words this last month.

Miles’s problems are starting to run a little thin and with the things he can do, it’s becoming increasingly hard to challenge him. Someone suggested bringing an intergalactic or interplanar threat. I feel like those are really the only way to challenge Miles now, but not quite sure I want to go full Marvel yet.

Instead, I’ll slow it down at the beginning of next book and work on furthering relationships and see where we go from there.

Speaking of, Dragon 7 is not nearly as complicated as I was expecting the sheer number of characters to be. I’m actually managing it quite well. On chapter 11 right now and things are flowing smoothly, I know where it is going and there is a mystery unraveling before me back in line to the first few in the series as we are back to Philly.

Its hitting a nice cadence and I know things are good when the story flows this easily.

SSV4 is going through one editor right now and will move to the next on the 26th. So it’s still on track for the 9th.

I’m working on two side projects. They are called ‘High Fantasy 4 Bonds’ and ‘Thornton’ in my writing program right now, but that’s subject to change. 2 chapters in the first and 8 chapters in the other. These are right now exercises to work on different writing techniques, but if I finish them, I’ll most likely publish them. I’d like not to publish a book 1 for a new series in August or Sept. It’s just a slow period for the genre.

Outside of writing, things are going well. The storm of illnesses has subsided and my kid is back at daycare. I’m pocketing these two side projects for use down the road and taking some time off.

Anyway, things are great and flowing well. Now it is time for me to push forward and get ahead so that the next road bump doesn’t throw me.

Any plans on that dungeon book? I really liked that one.

GhostPhil

The question is, does Miles need like fighting challenges all the time. I feel like with his power level it could be more interesting for him to deal with smaller more personal problems. Otherwise it feels like certain Shounen Anime, where always another stronger enemy pops out. And I think with the titans, super titans and other cities we probably have a lot of potential stories to go through. Then you have the personal problems of some of the harem members like Mona, Obby, Kim, Daeva,... Also training a puppy. Living in a mansion. Making Stella happy. Trainee's. I am glad to hear that your writing flows this great though. That certainly makes it better for you as well. And I am really interested in the side project. I also still remember the idea with that wizard MC that was locked up.

I like furthering the relationship in the next one, seeing the rest of the world would probably take more than one book to do properly and the girls need time with him this book

Mikkel

I Think your ideer with Miles is good. For me the fun is that he is OP plus the relationships.

Dungeon diving 101, released on Amazon, January 9. That's the only dungeon book I'm aware of he was working on. If you're asking if he's going to write another one, I'd imagine so when it comes up in the rotation again.

Mateo

Cannot wait for dragon 7. I love your books.

Bruce_Sentar

Yes. It's in the rotation and will be after Dragon 7.

Direwolf1618

Dragon 7 tomorrow. I’m excited for this book.

Bruce_Sentar

Yes. We'll see with SSV, there's a lot of stuff with the girls that could be explored and probably the hardest part of wrapping it up.

vardic d

Yeah I think it'd be fine to take a step back from problems fixed with overwhelming power, and focus on smaller type issues that need a softer hand. Something Miles can't just paste.

Miles doesn't need challenges to be fights and actual threats but more character driven like personal conflicts with his past with Kim and challenges with his relationships rather just keep escalating the power scaling. That's what I liked about the first few books when he's untouchable physically but emotionally weak.

Daniel Glasson

Nothing wrong with having a book where Miles and the girls get a chance to step back and kind of settle things down amongst themselves a bit, especially after how much action was in the last 2 books.

DJ Johnson

hype for dragon 7 when we gonna get chapters?

GhostPhil

Yeah and focusing more heavily on the "Saving Supervillains " aspect. Book 4 had actually relatively few of it

GhostPhil

Yeah the therapy sessions were actually really good. Maybe he could do a partner one with Kim.

Hayden Leech

Oh crap dragon 7!?!? I thought the best few books would be the cultivation ones and was going to unsubscribe for a while. Rad.

You don't really need stronger threats to challenge miles, that's a problem lots of authors seem to fall into create new stronger threat then character grows stronger to defeat them. But the thing is even if an opponent doesn't represent a physical threat to him they can still be a threat to someone or something he cares about, and if he can't find them he can't eliminate. For example how could miles deal with something like a bioweapon?

Dennis Erwin

Yep, go back to the first SSV - the problem Miles has is he doesn't have a 'rule the world' personality, but has 'rule the world' power. THAT's the conflict. Spend a book having Miles indulge (the readers) in power fantasy, while working on his complex relationships and figuring out how to keep the rest of the world from going to hell in the proverbial handbasket. No need for Marvel set pieces.

FlawlessMovement

I mean you’d need atleast one book to get his women up to s+ levels. And other home building activities, now that he’s outed, he can GO BIG and build massive walls, aqua, earth works to really flex his power over all existence. Matter is energy and vice versa.

FlawlessMovement

Little stops him from carving massive swaths out of whatever he wants. City needs expended? Boom flattened
