The diamond skin is hilarious to see but just a heads up that the fact that it makes him more enticing to others is the idea. He doesnt look like a monster. Everything about him draws people in which is what makes them the perfect killing machines. He is ashamed of it because he hates what he is.

Yeah, Bella was overly sullen and angsty in the books. I don't think I liked her that much but it's been a long time since I read the books. I do think the movies get better though.

Ash, you're watching this film from a male perspective. This film was based on books written by a female through the eyes of a female teenager who's going through alot of changes. That's the point of the film. The target audience is female teens. That's why they like and understand it and you laugh at it. Even at the end you referred to the author as a he. The author of the books is a woman. These movies are a representation of growing up as a female. You're not supposed to understand it. Also, the story isn't finished. You only saw the beginning of the story. Bella comes off as one dimensional because she's meant to. She's confused so she doesn't show any one emotion more than another because she doesn't feel one emotion more than another. She's basically just been swept off her feet and fallen in love so everything she's dealing with is confusing to her.

The spider monkey line was actually specifically picked out by both Rob & Kristen (Edward & Bella). So it’s hilarious to hear Hanna think Rob should have asked for a change. As for the baseball scene. When their bodies slam together or they hit the ball with a bat they make a loud crack, like thunderstorms.

They had to play baseball during a thunderstorm so that the thunder muffled out the sounds of them playing. They’re supposed to be so strong and almost marble, like as if they were statues. That when they hit the ball it would be like the sound of thunder

This was great I loved every second of it. I see what Ash is saying but I still do agree that it is more of an adult perspective and Stephanie Meyer the author of the book was HEAVILY involved in the movies they would have never been able to stray in the way that elevated the original source material. It is campy and cringy and I love it as an adult as much as I did when I was a kid and I'm glad you guys liked. Also they needed the thunder because all those bangs were diegetic as in they were making that much noise in the movie as well so they needed those cracks of lightning and thunder to camouflage it

When I was a tween, I loved the books but, when the movie came out I was immediately so disappointed lol Ash is spot on: Bella is supposed to be awkward but Kristen Stewart (in my opinion) is a terrible actress and it ruined it for me. Also yeah, they did not adapt the book to a script well at all 🙄 I also don't like the director they chose, such a mess, but, still very nanostalgic of my high school days 😂

Bella wasn't meant to be typically pretty. She was meant to be too pale for someone from Arizona .Skin almost translucent. Small.Fragile and extremely clumsy.Plain Jane. So no one really understands why Edward can't stay away from her. Also, Edward Cullen=Cedric Diggory and Esme Cullen (his mom) = Shirley Crane from The Haunting of Hill House

Personally I think Kristen gets too much hate for her performance as in the book Bella is constantly describing herself as awkward and deeply uncomfortable with her self, she says she has “always felt out of step” so I think Kristen conveyed that well as Bella really has a hard time interacting with people. She also describes herself as very plain looking however Edward describes her beauty as something soft and timeless her flaws only making her more endearing to him. A knock out beauty like Megan fox or anyone who has been a supermodel would not be a good cast for Bella. They picked Kristen because she was more of that Indie vibe lol I read these books far too much as a kid and now watch them with a lot of fondness as they really helped me through my parents divorce, I no longer take them seriously or anything in fact I find them quite funny in a way now! I hope you both enjoy this franchise and I absolutely loved your reaction! Thank you!

When I was a teenager, I watched this movie and I do remember liking the movie, I even liked Edward more than Jacob. But right now, rewatching as an adult I am more leaned towards Jacob, also the dialogue is so cringy, how did I not remember that? But overall I did like this movie series and it actually does kinda get good, in fact my favorite one is the last and fifth one.

My boyfriend and I just watched alongside you guys - we loved this reaction, please keep watching :'D the movies are cringe, ridiculous, absolute nonsense but that's legitimately part of the fun. You somehow end up invested in this positively silly, eye-roll inducing thing even when it gets weird. Plus, it makes for lots of laughs seeing how you two respond to a lot of the scenes that made all of us say "what the hell am I watching?" Thanks! (I think in the next movie you get to see a little more about the vampire world/hierarchy as well which is fun world building and introduces things in subsequent movies.)

So a couple things that might help explain stuff in this series: Bella's intense awkwardness was in the books. She was extremely socially awkward and clumsy, and awful in any social interaction. She also has incredible self-confidence issues and kinda hates herself. She was basically the parent in her relationship with her mother, so Bella is supposed to be very independent and "not like other kids her age," which also makes her feel like she can't relate to people her own age. Her bizarre obsession and fearlessness when it comes to Edward is supposed to be some kind of primal addiction thing. In the books, Edward's entire being is designed to draw her in and make her obsessed with him, hence all the weird breathiness from her. She's basically high on Edward the entire time. The same goes for Edward. Bella's blood is THE MOST appealing thing he's ever smelled/tasted. He always looks like he's in pain because he is. The smell of her blood is driving him practically mad with thirst, and his throat is always burning with vampiric need for it. She's also appealing because, like Hannah said, Bella's mind is the only one that Edward's ever encountered in his 104 year life that he can't read. She's unique to him in the way that he has to try to figure her out himself, whereas with everyone else, he knows everything about them in a few short seconds, so people have become boring and predictable. The Spider Monkey thing was NEVER in the books, and I remember hating it when I heard it for the first time. It took me completely out of the movie for a moment. The Cullen family need the thunderstorm to play baseball because the sound of the thunder masks the sounds of them hitting the baseballs so hard due to their vampire strength that it almost breaks the sound barrier. The acting does slightly improve as the movies go on, and the story itself (as in the dangers they encounter) also gets more interesting as time goes on. Though, we as a fanbase ALL HATE one of the characters introduced in the final book/movie (iykyk) PLEASE do the other movies in the series!

I just paid 9.50 so I could watch this and I’m Deaf but this isn’t subtitled on the tv? It is captioned on my phone but when I tried to cast to the tv the captioning just continues on the phone to a black screen while the airplay works on the tv? How can I fix this? Any way to do this?
